Didn't Know Yet What I'd Know When I Was Bleedin' Lyrics

Knelt a puppet on a string
Along the vortex weeping
Lord have you heard
The roaring dragon eat the virgin

I didn't know yet what I'd know when I was bleedin' (x2)
I seem to forget what I learned when I was fallin'
I didn't know yet what I'd know when I was bleedin'

Neon ghost in mask and coat
My heart is satellite remote
When my chemicals go wrong
Murder the devil
Take his song for my own
We sang

I didn't know yet what I'd know when I was bleedin' (x2)
I seem to forget what I learned when I was fallin'
I didn't know yet what I'd know when I was bleedin'
When I was fallin' (x3)
Was I flyin'?

Like a lot of Dax Riggs songs this is about drugs, more than likely heroine. I thought for a moment it could be about getting murdered, another one of Dax Riggs themes. A few verses makes me lean more toward a cycle of shooting up... The puppet, vortex, bending, religious implications. Also never learning from the cycle of doing this, like saying "I wish I would learn to quit this" also the reference "when I was fallin" so the cycle has taken you down a fallin' path. OR it could reference the falling sensation getting high and maybe regretting said cycle of abuse during the high. Regret is what it all boils down to I think.

I think it's basically about learning things the hard way and making the same mistakes. Could be drugs, alcoholism, belligerence, or being to radical on a skateboard. Or getting your ass kicked. Either way awesome song. We miss you Dax.
