Wire To Wire Lyrics

What is love but the strangest of feelings?
A sin you swallow for the rest of your life?
You’ve been looking for someone to believe in
To love you, until your eyes run dry

She lives on disillusion road
We go where the wild blood flows
On our bodies we share the same scar
Love me, wherever you are

How do you love with a fate full of rust?
How do you turn what the savage tame?
You’ve been looking for someone you can trust
To love you, again and again

How do you love in a house without feelings?
How do you turn what that savage tame?
I’ve been looking for someone to believe in
Love me, again and again

She lives by disillusion's glow
We go where the wild blood flows
On our bodies we share the same scar

How do you love on a night without feelings?
She says “love, I hear sound, I see fury”
She says “love’s not a hostile condition”
Love me, wherever you are

Love me, wherever you are
Love me, wherever you are
Wherever you are

Maybe about a girl and a boy who live in a world full of hatred and darkness (We go where the wild blood flows). They had often disillusions with girlfriends/boyfriends, because love doesn´t count much for the other people in that world. And now the girl and the boy meet each other and discover that they are the only two people in that fucking world who can really love deeply (How do you love on a night without feelings?). The girl seems to be more optimistic as the boy (How do you love on a night without feelings? She says love, I hear sound, I see fury She says loves not a hostile condition) but then he falls in love, too (Love me, wherever you are) Maybe that questions implies that they haven´t found each other yet, don´t know...

My Interpretation

I think this song isn't as simple as just love. I think its about a girl who is seperate from the others, due to some events in her past, or such as depression and self harm, or through something else, i don't know. But he is completely blown away by her, shes like nothign hes ever seen before and he love sher for it. He's one of the crowd, but everything shes been through he's felt her pain, and he doesn't understand how he can love her while shes still all hurt and distant, cos they're so different, but he still does. just a guess

To me it feels like this boy, who is singing, is in love with someone he recently met. But they are actually both in a long-term relationship already. This makes it very hard to speak of their love for one another. They know that their current relationships are just dillusional, especcially the girl's one, but it is hard to break-up.

line by line:

What is love but the strangest of feelings? A sin you swallow for the rest of your life? You've been looking for someone to believe in To love you, until your eyes run dry

--> what is love? does it exist: the one? when is your search at an end? Or do you have to life with your current choice for the rest of your life?

She lives on disillusion road We go where the wild blood flows On our bodies we share the same scar Love me, wherever you are

--> The boy is asking her to stop the relationship she is having right now, the disillusional road. he in fact wants to leap in obscurity. He wants to go with her were the wild blood flows, wants to be free with her. In the end both of them will be scarred by breaking up, but they'll try to make their love.

How do you love with a fate full of rust? How do you turn what the savage tame? You've been looking for someone you can trust To love you, again and again

--> you're full of rust in you current love, you need to break free from him (still the boy is telling/singing to her). You need someone like me to love you again and again. True love?

How do you love on a night without feelings? She says love, I hear sound, I see fury She says love's not a hostile condition Love me, wherever you are

--> you're in a relationship but where is that magic feeling? have you ever felt it like you feel it now... with me?! Like I feel for you right now

love me, wherever you are they've parted ways, but still he is thinking of her and he hopes she is thinking of him... it makes him feel sad, being with someone he loves (but not to the fullest) and not being with someone he needs/feels drawn to...

it's just what I feel when listening to this song...

Beautiful analysis Sofke, that's also how I interpret the song.

Correction: I sincerely hope that the song's meaning is just like you said... ; ;

Here in germany this amazing song was the music of the trailer for "Brokeback Mountain" on TV. I think this song and this film fitting to each other very well

IT`S SO AN AMAZING WONDERWORK OF MUSIC

hmm. great song! first up ;)

i guess it could be about domestic violence. both (boy&girl) had problems to learn how to love during their childhood because they could have probably been hit by their parents, etc. ... figurativly they never or barely received love and have to deal with the consequences now. like longing for a lot of love, but being unsure if they could get it from their partner and being very sceptical.

that could be "share the same scar"

the rest of the song fits quite good to this theory i think

love is strangest of feelings = oh it can be a paradox thing ;)

love you, until your eyes run dry ..and.. fate full of rust = things everybody knows, the first big love(s) mostly aren't the "loves of your life", maybe the one you'll marry or so. every breakdown and end of a realtionship is a cut in your life and you seem to have to start from the beginning (but later recognize what you've learned from that)

to love on a night without feelings ..and.. she says:I hear sound, I see fury = could be a flashback to what happend to her in her childhood when she has been hit or abused, guess at night. so it's even harder for her to trust him

and so on, what i wanted to say was: everybody someday learns how to love, but if you never learned how to love, the harder it is to learn how to love :D :D :D you got it ? ;)

seeya ^^

for me it is about two people who went trough a hard live, perhaps several breakups ("On our bodies we share the same scar") and now they have found each other they have the oppurtunity to leave the lifes they had and start a new one together

Amen

I´m not a native speaker, I am trying to understand "to turn what the savage tame". I´d really appreciate if someone could help out.

In general, I guess this song is about two people just searching for "the one". But there is fear, scars, disillusion. In the end the female counterpart takes her courage in her hands to start it, no matter what could result, as she understands that the only thing he needs is trust, because he loves her already pretending it is not so.

Seems like the line has been changed into "what the savage take". That makes sense to me.

-Firstly I should say that some of the lyrics written above are incorrect. (I'll asterisk them.) Second, I am hopeful no religious people read what I say and don't take any offence.

For me this song is about trying to convert a religious person into Agnosticism,

What is love but the strangest of feelings, A sin you swallow for the rest of your life? You've been looking for someone to believe in

She lives by disillusion glow* We go where the wild blood flows On our bodies we share the same scar Love me, wherever you are

--> The narrator describes a friend or lover, devoting their life to a religion. This is clear in the line, "you've been looking for someone to believe in". He suggests Faith is the strangest of feelings; a " 'sin' you swallow for the rest of your life". We share the same scar, as pertaining to the fact they're both humans and he's stressing the point that they're both doing fine with or without their beliefs.

She's described as having a religious aura around herself. "disillusion's glow". 'We go where the wild blood flows,' meaning freedom of thought.

How do you love with a fate full of rust? How do you turn what the savage tame?

--> How can you keep believing when your fate is hell anyway. Being raised in a religion can make it hard to convert because you hold your parent's standards on high authority. (the authority figure/church being metaphorical savages)

Love me, wherever you are

--> It's easy for me to see this as relating to omni-presence and benevolence.
