Whats with the 3am stuff, 3am is sometimes considered to be the devils hour, i really dont understand the line "there was the time I came to your side, it was 3 am and you were begging me to die" does anyone have an interpretation of this?

I think this song is about a boy who likes a girl and she says she likes him too, but she's never quite sure if she wants to be with him. Sometimes she likes him a lot and sometimes she doesn't. And since she's never sure eventually she says that they should move on...
She's afraid of commitment, but in his mind and everyone elses they might as well already be together. "Why are you still saying we won't when we already are." And he knows he has to move on but doesn't want to...He used to be cautious, but lately he hasn't cared about getting hurt because of her.
I think in the end he knows he'll be fine without her...even though he does want her. "was there something I said to make you doubt I could get back up? cause I can get back up"
And so young and insane probably just means that they are young and this relationship is insane. thats my opinion. good band!=]
i think the so young and insane is more of a statement about being in "love" at a young age. It obviously won't last forever and its kind of "remember when we were young and stupid/naive moment" i think its a great lyric tho.

I think it's about a guy whose best friend has abandoned him (or whose girlfriend broke up with him, but the "forget the best friend who always carried you" line leads me to believe it's probably not a romantic relationship). At one point he was so depressed that he had begun to change as a person ("it's been weeks since I looked both ways and gave a damn"). Then finally he decides, "I don't get why you've done this, but it shouldn't be my problem any more - you want this to end, then it does, right here and right now." ("Was there something I said?/Because there sure as hell will now/Was there something I said to make you doubt that I could get back up?/Because I can get back up now").
