Never Miss a Beat Lyrics

What did you learn today?
I learned nothing
What did you do today?
I did nothing
What did you learn at school?
I didn't go
Why didn't you go to school?
I don't know

[Repeat: x2]
It's cool to know nothing

Television's on the blink
There's nothing on it
I really want a really big coat
With words on it
What do you want for tea?
I want crisps
Why didn't you join the team?
I just didn't

[Repeat: x2]
It's cool to know nothing

[Chorus]
Take a look, take a look, take a look
At the kids on the street
No they never miss a beat
No they never miss a beat
Never miss a beat
Never miss a beat, beat, beat, beat
Take a look at the kids on the street
No they never miss a beat
No they never miss a beat
Never miss a beat
Never miss a
Never miss a beat
Never miss a beat

Here comes the referee
The light's flashing
Best bit of the day
Now that's living
Why don't you run away?
Are you kidding?
What is the golden rule?
You say nothing

[Repeat: x2]
It's cool to know nothing

[Chorus: x2]

I think he is talking about how kids don't go to school yet they never miss a beat. They are more into music than school. Sad!

Top tune. The verses took me a while to like but now i love em. The lyrics are quite simple but they're very clever.

actually amazing song!

Creo que esta canción refleja la ociosidad de las actuales generaciones donde no tienen ganas de hacer nada, y se quedan absortos en su "mundo"

There's two lines I don't really get:

"What do you want for tea?" "I want crisps."

Can someone clarify this?

They're from England. The English call chips, like potato chips, crisps.

... and "tea" is what we call the main evening meal in England. Not to be confused with dinner, which we eat at lunchtime. So these kids don't eat properly, they hang around the streets and live off crisps. And they don't talk to coppers.
