Corina, Corina Lyrics
Corina, Corina
Where you been so long?
Corina, Corina
Where you been so long?
I've been so worried about you, coquito
When are you coming home?
Corina, Corina
Where did you sleep last night?
You come back around this morning
Clothes don't fit you right
I got a bird that whistles
I got a bird that sings
I got a bird that whistles
I got a bird that sings
Oh without you Corina, this life don't mean a thing
Corina, Corina
Listen, you make me blue
Corina, Corina
Listen, you make me blue
Miss Figueroa-Escamilla
Hey, I'm talking to you!
Corina, Corina
Where have you been so long?
Mi querida, Corina
Where you been so long?
You're way out there in Toluca
I'm trapped in Tepoztlán
You're way out there in Toluca
I'm trapped in Tepoztlán
Where you been so long?
Corina, Corina
Where you been so long?
I've been so worried about you, coquito
When are you coming home?
Where did you sleep last night?
You come back around this morning
Clothes don't fit you right
I got a bird that sings
I got a bird that whistles
I got a bird that sings
Oh without you Corina, this life don't mean a thing
Listen, you make me blue
Corina, Corina
Listen, you make me blue
Miss Figueroa-Escamilla
Hey, I'm talking to you!
Where have you been so long?
Mi querida, Corina
Where you been so long?
I'm trapped in Tepoztlán
You're way out there in Toluca
I'm trapped in Tepoztlán

I think he actually says coquette at least that will make sense.... I've just read "A coquette is a woman who flirts girlishly with men to gain their admiration; a flirt."
Also the direct translation from Spanish to English for Mi querida is "My dear"
I'd like to hear others opinions on this :)
he's saying "coquita." that is corina's nickname (his wife).
This song was written by Bob Dylan. This song is sung by Bo Carter with lyrics very similar to these. Other variations also exsist such as The Mississippi Sheiks "Sweet Maggie" and Charlie McCoys "Sweet Alberta"
Bob Dylan did not write this song. Corina, Corina has been around long before Dylan was even alive. Everyone changes up the lyrics though.
coachie coa --> "coquito" doesn't really make sense, but that's definitely what he's saying.
also the last "corrina, corrina" is changed to "mi querida, corrina" in most live versions.

chlorophyllblood...thanks man, I edited the lyrics.
I recorded this: Sorry for the shaky camera, I was trippin! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kABzER2C6Kg
He's actually saying Cokita instead of coquito...Cokita, his girlfriend's, incidentally named Corina Figueroa-Escamilla, nickname.
conor changed the original version of the song to suit himself and be more appropriate for his lady friend Corina Figueroa Escamilla..
i dunno where Corina is from (probably Toluca) but Conor wrote the solo album in Tepoztlán... hence
You're way out there in Toluca I'm trapped in Tepoztlán
