welcome back to
where I'm gonna to have you
shell shock - fall back
every one I see through
watch your head spin
like a mesocyclone
bouncing off the walls
now there's nowhere to run

like a bullet
meant to be shot
you're the target
dead on the spot
when I focus
I never miss
it starts with a kiss

she ricochets
and you don't notice
she's in your head
and you just don't notice

let the sweat fall
find me in the back stall
let it snow down
now we're gonna deck halls
I hit the bullseye
making all the boys cry
I hit the main line
breaking through the night sky

like a bullet
meant to be shot
you're the target
dead on the spot
when I focus
I never miss
it starts with a kiss

She's ruthless. She plays the boys seduces them then leaves them clueless, lost and maybe heartbroken sometimes. Thats what she does! =D

kind of sounds like a girl tempting a guy to get into a relationship but she only wants fun... yea, not really sure. different style for stg, im still undecided about their new lead.

I think it's about a guy dening he likes this girl and like she's in ur head. explains that part i really like this song it's catchy. i don't think the girl's playing with him. [like a bullet meant to be shot you're the target] but i think she likes him, and no matter what she's gonna get him. i just made this to post my opinion haha =]

Rebound relationships? Ricocheting from one guy to the next seems a plausible meaning to me. I mean, isn't one of the common themes of the Shiny's music that of heartless bitches using or toying with guys. Basically the "I'm too good for you" idea followed by the "you're a skank" line of thought. It's really pretty biting stuff, I think

i heard this song on top 40 radio & it def caught my attention. this song sounds to me like a girl who goes to the clubs & does coke (she mentions letting it snow down in the stalls aka bathrooms before she's ready to deck the halls) & picks up men. actually it almost sounds like she is comparing her way of seduction to the addictive properties of a drug... like saying she's creeping up in your head/hitting the mainline etc. the song has that vibe to it imo. anyway, it's clear that she means to encircle & destroy... & her target is obvs the boys.

I am that much better for now knowing the word "mesocyclone"...and I suspect that I'll be better yet (or at least a bit giddier) when I pick up the new album on Election Day. This should be fun. STG rule.

the video is up (not on youtube yet, just google it) .........weird. apparently the cd is supposed to be about things 'that make you shudder' or make you uncomfortable. (quote from the lead guitarist) odd. new direction for stg thats for sure.

the meaning? okay, my take. sounds like shes not completely real in wanting the relationship with the guy but shes good got an addicting/appealing way of tempting the guy. but "shes in your head" and you cant get away from her, so to speak. "let the sweat fall, find me in the back stall. let it snow down..." sounds like using coke in a bathroom to kind of relieve himself about thinking about getting involved with her. he wants it, but knows in his mind shes a fake. so he uses coke so he can do things without regret (for the time being...)

this song is not good. it feels contrived and unfinished, or at least the chorus feels like it shouldnt be a chorus. the verse sounds very stg. the new singer can def pull off that attitude from the last chick, but the chorus needs to change

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
