Apparently this song is written about Danny's sister. It's about falling too easily for anyone and not having enough respect for yourself to choose someone decent. She doesn't choose good relationships, just quick flings with men who just want to use her and leave quickly.

This song actually gave me shivers :D The whole album is absolutly amazing

The lyrics say what the song is about. 'You’ve gotta stand for something or you’ll fall for anything' Basically telling people not to be pushovers and to have standards and limits so that people don't push you around and take advantage of you.

I bought the album today and it says:

"Girl they'll bring you down, down, down"

"Don't 'give' yourself away" (not 'keep')

and in the first verse it's "And it's the same mistakes that I'm watching you 'weave'" - the next chorus is 'make' :)

Anyway, I LOVE this song, maybe my fave from the album :D:D

This song is amazing. it's really empowering in a way. it makes me want to run and kick box and all that fun stuff. i really love The Script. they are far too underrated. amazing vocals too.

There are some girls I think of when I hear this song. One of them is a girl who was a good friend of mine. We are not as close as we used to be. She went to a mate's house and there was touching and stuff involved. She asked for a relationship but he always refused. He still saw him and did stuff with him though, but always said how in love with him the next day. Another boy she was with did stuff with her then told everyone. More recently, she had been with another guy who kept breaking up with her, then picking her up and dropping her again.

I just get mad that she does this to herself. Hasn't she learnt from any of this?

this song to me is about being used by someone that is your everything.. and pretty much that person who is mistreating you is lieing to you and you are believing that things are going to work out and your blind to reality that they really could care less.

i know that it is about someone following others orrr just being a pushover in general because they dont know what they want for themselves...but if you think about it...in order to stand for something didnt we have to fall for something ? Someone obviously influenced us to think they way we do, but who's to tell if that was the right thing to fall for ?
