Talk You Down Lyrics
I can feel the colour running
As it's fading from my face
Try to speak but nothing's coming
Nothing I could say to make you stay
Grab your suitcase call a taxi
It's 3am now where you gonna go?
Gonna stay with friends in London
And that's all I get to know
Just a ciggarette gone
No you couldn't be that far
I'm driving my car to where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can talk you down
we're standing on a tiny ledge
before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
And try to open up your eyes
This is a relationship suicide
Cos if you go, I go
Cos if you go, I go
Taking shortcuts through the alleys
While you're racing through my mind
Cops can chase but they won't catch me
Not before I get to speak my mind
If there's still time Oh
we're standing on a tiny ledge
before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
As it's fading from my face
Try to speak but nothing's coming
Nothing I could say to make you stay
Grab your suitcase call a taxi

Throughout the song, the speaker is using suicide as a metaphor for the girl leaving him, and he is referring to the fact that maybe he can "talk her down", in other words persuade her not to jump, or to leave him.
Spot on! :D

without question the best song on the album. I love the way they are so vivid with details. This song is clearly about a couple who have recently broken up and he's trying to get her back. I love their sound. I wish they would get notarity here in the U.S.
perfect, im thinking this is the best song on the album:) i think the guy is making a sudden decision to go after a girl who just left him, maybe hes ignoring the illogical thought and just satisfying his heart 'i use my heart and not my head'
Brilliant.
Alright, 'nough said.
:)
Amazing song.
Pretty obvious what it's about... she's leaving, and he wants to try to talk her out of it.
This song is about the fight or flight moment of the relationship, when the girl is walking out and you either go after her and try to save the relationship or let her run away and end it.
The line 'Use my heart and not my head' is stating that he'll speak and act with his heart, doing what it thinks is right despite what his brain might be telling him, ignoring all rational thought as stated in a past comment.

this song is kindof a rip from Hit The Lights "Talk Us Down"
I highly doubt that a band from Dublin, Ireland, is going to rip a Hit the Lights song.
