Q&A
18 Years Lyrics
She's got control of you and you love it
Controlling the pain of you with the palm of her hand
Well she's got control of you and you need it
She comes in red with a Lenin dress
Who knew?
The door opens up and it lets some light in
Someone calls and takes the blindfold off
You are home to see a woman standing
Someone hopes to knock you out
Who knew?
A heavy beating, the pounding of your heart
You start to sweat and you scream out
Something black answers back from the dungeon
And you smile
The curtain surrounds you and you begin to forget
The hammer cracks the iron core of your mind
Controlling the pain of you with the palm of her hand
Well she's got control of you and you need it
She comes in red with a Lenin dress
Who knew?
Someone calls and takes the blindfold off
You are home to see a woman standing
Someone hopes to knock you out
Who knew?
You start to sweat and you scream out
Something black answers back from the dungeon
And you smile
The hammer cracks the iron core of your mind

i believe this is experience that is shared amongst many heroin users (the ones who get addicted by too short of a time in between uses and a habitatual life style that has it’s dark and light side; or a period of time where they went too far from naive use or further than what they had under control; and found they had to wrestle with withdrawal and staving it off). poppy was referred to as the “hand of god” in ancient cultures, and has many benefits, for when sick (immune sytem/ cell receptor stuff , cough treatment, feeling better, ect.) and for spiritual use and coping, when used sparsely enough to avoid . addiction and tolerance build (part of which never resets, and part of which does, sonthe person won’t have the same effect from a smaller amount, like an opiod naive individual, but will still have lower tolerance than when they were habitually using; meaning the dose they took when using habitually would be fatal; but that is a known part of the territory even before modern pharmacology, it’s just not public common knowledge for drug naive individuals and people who don’t know any people from the subcultures or traditional users; whether sparse or habitual, who have passed down knowledge . people have lost their rituals [regardless of whatever faith ; just importantly, the ancient “pharmacology” [from 100-1000s of years of crappy trial and error] and what won’t basically kill you] in the “modern” world because it is a supressed and taboo activity nowadays and personal well being/spiritual/wellness/pleasure/ext. are seen as hedonistic by a large majority of the f the popular religious and secular orders), but because it is so good, if it isn’t consumed with attention to self control, or if it is given into, then it becomes what is talked about in the song.
