White Diamonds Lyrics

She was young in her mind but the days they were old and tired
Along came love, she had yearned for so long, she felt on fire
She'd do anything for him
She'd do anything for him

He was close as the label in a shirt, never left her side
He would lay his handkerchief in the rain if she ever walked by
He'd do anything for her
He'd do anything for her

Hold back and kiss slow
All the lights out in your cold heart now (x2)

Stuck in a world that would pull them apart, and it cost in time
If only they knew that ahead loomed a cloud that was as black as night
She'd do anything for him
She'd do anything for him

They were strong, they could take on the world and put up a fight
And even the clouds couldn't stand in the way when they held on tight
He'd do anything for her
He'd do anything for her

Hold back and kiss slow
All the lights out in your cold heart now (x2)

Don't hold your breath too long
For white diamonds in the snow (x2)

Hold back and kiss slow
All the lights out in your cold heart now (x2)

Love the lyrics. I think its talking about 2 people falling in love but then are pulled away from eachother for some reason, but decide to do the whole long distance relationship because they are so in love..."Don't hold your breath too long" that line sums up the rest though

I'd say it's just about the various obstacles that young people passionately in love face in their relationships. I quite like the imagery in this song though. Obviously the looming black cloud would indicate future troubles. Not sure about the white diamonds though.

The last stanza says "don't hold your breath too long." Why? Because of the white diamonds in the snow. If you drop diamonds in the snow, you won't find them. The stanza is about a lost relationship.

i'm pretty sure it's "he would lay his handkerchief in the rain" not "he would lace handkerchief in the rain." it makes more sense to me...
