Although the lyrics are pretty clear in what kind of image is portrayed, I find myself looking at this as an alternate perspective on a pretty wild lifestyle.
In the 2nd verse, it says:
... Making friends and sleeping in Sleeping in the sun
I believe that this suggests long nights out spent with others - whether it's partying, drinking, clubbing, or a combination of all that. The lyrics themselves are energetic (it may be hard, but try to imagine hearing the lyrics sung to a more upbeat electronic track, at a faster tempo and heavier bass line) and suggest a very active nightlife and a lazy after-morning. Perhaps it suggests an active sexual lifestyle as well, as "making friends and sleeping in" are sang in the same line.
The tone of the song is what makes it so interesting. It gives off a very cool and relaxed mood, contrary to the meaning of what is actually sung.
