Tiny Little Robots Lyrics
They’ve got you movin’ to the city
Oh my, you think you're lookin’ pretty
But they’ve got their pistols too
Tucked down beneath their shoe
It’s a new sensation
World annihilation
Moving to the music
Patiently it’s waitin’
The city’s screamin’
I can hear them breathin’
Cryin’ out for wisdom
Hungry minds are feedin’
I know that you're tired of this
Cause you're a robot
They designed your life
But true souls said you know what’s right
And you can join us on the other side
Are you scared? Are you scared? Are you scared?
They’ve got you marching to a drum beat
Oh my you got another nose bleed
They’ll keep you so amused
You’ll never taste the truth
It’s a new creation
Total domination
Chains across your shoulders
Social captivation
Kill our leaders
Persecute our teachers
Criticize our culture
Crucify free thinkers
I know that you're tired of this
Cause you're a robot
They designed your life
But true souls said you know what’s right
And you can join us on the other side
Are you scared? Are you scared? Are you scared?
Fill our eyes with money
Vanity that’s cunnin’
Only on the surface
Diamonds look so stunnin’
Mass deception
Altered our perception
Sold it to the children
Made a new connection
I know that you're tired of this
Cause you're a robot
They designed your life
But true souls said you know what’s right
And you can join us on the other side
Oh my, you think you're lookin’ pretty

Just the greatest song. If nothing gets you hyped up and ready to punch someone while takiong swigs of whiskey, nothing will.
The song, in my view, is an obvious stab at the american government and indeed most of the world's government. The idea is that greed and money have overtaken the more important things. the sad thing is that this has become so widely accepted that people are almost programmed to think like this, thus being robots
true, i also think that its about anyone who is not just politically correct with todays ideas is persecuted and shot down for any new idea

this song is defiantly how people, not only in the US but around the world become pawns of the media and governments. We are brainwashed by the rhetoric of politicians and the media. Instead of coming up with our own opinions we rely on what others say to formulate our opinions and how we should conduct ourselves.
The spoken part at the end that shorty added wrote epitomizes what, especially the american culture, has succumbed to.
We rather base ourselves off of celebrities and leaders instead of thinking freely. "Crucify the thinkers."
Don't be scared to have convictions that aren't the status quo
from the day we're born we're conditioned to consume, consume, consume, to want things we don't need. We've lost sight of what's really important, because we are too distracted, and that's how the powers that be want it. Robots are easier to control.
"they'll keep you so amused you'll never taste the truth"
in huxley's "brave new world" it is unheard of to spend time alone, just thinking or doing nothing. Everyone is always doing something to stay amused and not have to really think. Sadly, it kind of sounds like our society. TV, radio, advertisements, it's just a way to keep us distracted from the real issues and to breed materialism and make us want to constantly buy things. I don't know if these people are smart or the general population is stupid, because it seems to work on most people.
but some of us know what's right, and you can join us on the other side...
This is what's spoken at the end of the song...
Our sidewalks are broken. Our minds have been twisted. The billboards are lying. The lines have been made. The streets are all empty. We’ve paved them with zombies. A lost generation generically made. When amidst all the madness, I saw a flower. a dream that was creeping I kept in my sight. And then it turned and took me in an explosion that shook me. …beauty that screams, “I’m alive.”
When?

I think this song is about mass media basiclly running peoples lives
The chorus is saying how someone can get tired of the media controling everything and the second part of the song is how the media can conrol our minds and how we think. If the media dosent like a leader, a teacher (preacher), an activist or a certain aspect of our culture they can completely destroy it
I would have to say that this song is all about the propaganda in the world delivered by the media.
I think it's about propaganda for sure... "Sold it to the children, made a new connection" "they'll keep you so amused, you'll never taste the truth" "Cause you're a robot, they designed your life" "Crying out for wisdom, hungry minds are feeding"
The words, to me, also point to a freedom from religious captivation. Free thinkers are often what Atheists or Non-Theists call themselves. People that think for themselves and don't allow religion to govern their decisions, but rather their own ideals and reason.
Love the song, and the band is one of my new favorites.
LOL...so if you don't believe in something (rather, you have a conviction of another sort) you're a "free thinker." I just love the silliness of some atheists, who are the usually the same ones who will fight for baby whales and medical research lab animals, but who think nothing of taking the life of growing humans who have brain waves, heartbeats, and their parents' DNA markers. Sorry, but for as much sh*t as Christians take from the non-Christian world, they appear to be the "free thinkers" for not caving into society's secular popularity and pressure. FYI: please study free will...

FYI: please study free will so you will see that, yes, even us stupid Christians make our own choices....and so you won't sound so much like a dip wad the next time you spout your religious bias. As for the song, who knows its meaning. (You simply peeved me off...)
I agree with ThatHillKid's view of the song. One of my favourite songs off of the album.
