Replica Lyrics

Make a perfect replica of your life
Cut the paper with exacto knife
Tape it up, tape it up
Against the howling wind
I'm so tired don't know where to begin

It's so unreal
It's all I need
This replica

I was the last to see me down on my knees
These antibodies learn to be the disease
And I learn to be what fights against me
We'll make a replica, a place we can sleep
And we could live in a hollow tree
Grow up old and bury the sea
And when this replica begins to look cheap
I'd throw it out but now it's home to me

It's so unreal
It's all I need
This replica

Build it up
Build it up
This replica
Now we build it up
Build it up
Build it up
Build it up
Build it up

this song is simply great! it seems to me it's about cheating yourself and living an imaginary life when you don't like your real life. but then time goes by and you see you just pretend to be someone else, and you live not your life but its replica, something made up and unreal. but it's too late cause this imaginary life has become a part of you and now you can't throw it away so easy. anyway, english isn't my mother tongue and i can be mistaken.

der kleine, your english is fine. I like your interpretation. You're not mistaken because that's what it means to you, and that's what's important. Listen to what it says to you.

I absolutely agree with Der Kleine Igel.

I'd only like to say that, even though it is maybe too late, it seems to me that he still likes his replica and it is not bad at all. The replica is done, there's no way back. It's pretty awesome, though.

However, he feels certainly frustrated. His replica is better than him afterall.

Definitely going to agree with Der Kleine. That was the first thing that popped into my head while I listened to this album for days and days on repeat. It's inspiring you know, to think how someones life could be a complete fabrication and to you, you'd know none the better. We've all done it before, it just matters how much of your life is fiction and how much is reality.

But, I also believe towards the end of the song his/her fabricated life becomes attainable and they've fulfilled their lies to where they're reality, at least to them.
