Toes Lyrics
I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today Life is good today
Well, the plane touched down just about three o'clock
And the city's still on my mind
Bikinis and palm trees danced in my head
I was still in the baggage line
Concrete and cars are their own prison bars like this life I'm living in
But the plane brought me farther
I'm surrounded by water
And I'm not going back again
I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today Life is good today
Adiós and vaya con Dios
Yeah I'm leaving GA
And if it weren't for tequila and pretty senoritas
I'd have no reason to stay
Adiós and vaya con Dios
Yeah I'm leaving GA
Gonna lay in the hot sun and roll a big fat one
And grab my guitar and play
Four days flew by like a drunk Friday night
As the summer drew to an end
They can't believe that I just couldn't leave
And I bid adieu to my friends
Because my bartender she's from the islands
Her body's been kissed by the sun
And coconut replaces the smell of the bar
And I don't know if its her or the rum
I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today Life is good today
Adiós and vaya con Dios
A long way from GA
Yes and all the muchachas they call me big poppa
When I throw pesos their way
Adiós and vaya con Dios
A long way from GA
Someone do me a favor and pour me some Jaeger
And I'll grab my guitar and play
Adiós and vaya con Dios
Going home now to stay
The senoritas don't care-o when there's no dinero
You got no money to stay
Adiós and vaya con Dios
Going home now to stay
(Just gonna prop up by the lake)
And put my ass in a lawn chair
Toes in the clay
Not a worry in the world a PBR on the way
Life is good today

it's so descriptive and beachy.. ahhh..how many days till summer?
As I posted in an earlier comment, I don't get what "the islands" means in the line "My bartender she's from the islands". Any help?

Cmon CaseIHGirl, PBR is THE drink of the south. lol
This song is so cool
I like this song, definately a good way to set a tone for the album. I take it as meaning that no matter where you are, city, tropical island or at home you really can't complain as long as you do what you love, life is good today.
the best song on the cd hands down. the only problem is that now that its on the radio they butcher it and dont play the chorus or the last verse. those 2 parts alone make the song
So... PBR at the end. Is that as 'pabst blue ribbon' or 'professional bull riding' i guess it could go either way.
its definitely 'pabst blue ribbon'. it fits right in with the cold beer he has in his hand during the chorus the whole rest of the song.

@CaseIHGirl it's the beer

@ CaseIHGirl - It's 'pabst blue ribbon' because you the music video, the guy is buying it from the gas station.

@ livelaughlove13 - Pretty sure its Georgia because in his song 'highway 20 ride' he talks about riding to the Georgia line.

FUCK if I didn't just have several toes amine just blasted off in a hunting accident in GA then I probly woulda liked this song :-(
Its "Adios el vaya con dios" or "Adios en vaya con dios", depending on where you're from. Just saying. I translated it to something along the lines of "Goodbye! I'm goin' with God." Translations are usually shaky, so you could probably throw in "Later" or "Bye" in place of "Goodbye".
It's actually "Adios AND vaya con Dios"

Does anyone know why one version of the song says
"Somebody do me a favor and pour me some jager" while another says "Hey boss do me a favor and pour me some jager"
it also changes the word "I" to "You" in some places. I don't understand having two versions with such simple lyric differences when they are both unedited versions of the song?
Adios y yaya con dois does not mean "goodbye i'm going with god", it actually means goodbye and go with god. if it was i'm going with god it woul say voy con dios.

I think sometimes they just get used to saying something in a way that flows easier than the original lyrics, so over time it just gets recorded separately. Kind of like how they change things up substantively in a live song now and then, I think sometimes those subtle changes are just something that comes to them easier.
