Heima Lyrics

Icelandic:
Þúsund ár í orðum
Þúsund orð sem hrista mig á hol
Ekkert þor, við verðum sárir enn
Ég verð að komast út

Þúsund orð í árum
Þúsund ár sem segja allt sem er
Enginn sér, á bak við orðin tóm
Býr alltaf eitthvað

Síðustu tárin að
Síðustu tárin strýk, ég burt
Síðustu ár um ævina

Síðustu árin að
Síðustu árnar enda burt
Sárin saman – já, þau gróa

Þúsund orð í drápum
Þúsund ár um mínar kinnar renna tár
Svöðusár, sem við saumum aftur saman
og höldum áfram

Síðustu tárin af
Síðustu tárin strýk, nú burt
Síðustu ár um ævina

Síðustu stráin dreg
Síðustu árnar renna burt
Sárin saman þau gróa

Sárin saman þau gróa
Síðustu tárin renna burt
Sárin saman – já, þau gróa
Já, þau gróa
Já, þau gróa

Nú er ég loks kominn heim

English Translation:
One thousand years in words
A thousand words which carve me to death
Without guts, we still get hurt
I need to get out

One thousand words in years
A thousand years which tell the whole story
No one sees, behind empty words
There's always something

The last tears shed
I wipe them off
The last years of a lifetime

The last years lived
The last rivers flow away
The wounds – yes, they heal

One thousand words in deaths
A thousand years, tears run down our cheeks
Gashes, which we suture together
and so move on

The last tears shed
Now I wipe them off
The last years of a lifetime

The last straws are drawn
The last rivers flow away
The wounds, they heal

The wounds, they heal
The last tears flow away
The wounds – yes, they heal
Yes, they heal
Yes, they heal

Now I'm finally home

this song definately means at home specially how he uses his voice at a high pitch when the beat is slow kinda like identifying that he found his place

Sometimes I think I'm hearing english.

Like I swear he says, "I will stay." which [even though its hopelandic] still makes me shiver.

an Icelandic version [of all Icelandic, no hopelandic] was released as a bonus track on the japanese Med Sud I Eyrum etc...
