We see the shadows that are falling from your eyes,
Draining your face of everything but the disguise,
Don't hide baby, let them see your true colours".
Don't mind the camera, let them see you're back out tonight.
Don't hide baby, show them just how deep it goes!
Don't mind the cameras, let them see you're back out baby!
You've been perfect from the start,
They told me that time has only done you wrong.
[Chorus]
We are going to a different place,
We're taking everything we can,
There's no expression left upon our face,
'Cause time is running out so fast,
We're sinking in the sand.
You've been talking from the heart,
Saying that I can't be away from life.
[Chorus]
We're sinking in the sand.
We're sinking in the sand.
Draining your face of everything but the disguise,
Don't hide baby, let them see your true colours".
Don't mind the camera, let them see you're back out tonight.
Don't hide baby, show them just how deep it goes!
Don't mind the cameras, let them see you're back out baby!
They told me that time has only done you wrong.
We are going to a different place,
We're taking everything we can,
There's no expression left upon our face,
'Cause time is running out so fast,
We're sinking in the sand.
Saying that I can't be away from life.
We're sinking in the sand.

it is "BLACK HEART" every time.
there is no "black out" or "back out".
fix your ears :p
I thought it was "Don't mind the camera, let them see your black heart tonight. Don't try baby, show them just how deep it goes, Don't mind the cameras, let them see your black heart baby"
Could be wrong but that's what I've always thought, brilliant song anyway.
I agree, it sounds to me like "black heart". Seems to fit the rest of the song better, too.

After the chorus, the lyrics sound more like "You've been talking from the heart. Saying that I have been away from life." Also I agree that it's "black heart" the second time, and "back out" the first time.
Anyone else care to actually comment on the meaning, and not just lyrics? To me, the lyrics point to a girl who is clearly depressed, not in the best of situations, and that it's only getting worse. The singer's point of view is that the girl must ignore everyone who she feels will judge her, and escape the situation rather than just hiding all her troubles away. The chorus seems to point to this, suggesting that the singer is helping to escape with her, saying they're going to a 'different place', i.e. they're getting away from the rest of society which was responsible for the girl's problems to begin with. They must escape from it quickly though, as it will only get worse ("We're sinking in the sand").
I'm not sure if I'm hearing "back out" the first time now because of seeing it here or because it's actually there. I do know that in the live version I've seen of this it was "black heart" both times. It makes sense either way though.

I agree with your interpretation of the meaning.
I agree with your interpretation of the meaning.
To me, this song represents the difficulty of "Audiosurf".
Haha, minuteman. You're right. Why don't you try 'The Terminal'?
Don't try baby, let them see your true colours Don't mind the camera, let them see you're black heart tonight
Makes sense - "Back out" does not, plus "black heart" sounds better and more poetic.
I think it should be 'black heart' both times around, but I like to think of the second time as 'black out'. To me this song, especially the first verse, relates somehow to depression. "We see the shadows that are falling from your eyes" -- yes, you are tired as hell "Draining your face of everything but the disguise" -- but you try to keep a straight face and go through it alone "Don't hide baby, let them see your true colours Don't mind the camera, let them see your black heart tonight" -- the camera represents that there's always people watching, and everything you do out of normal will be remembered, but ignore that and release your pain "Don't hide baby, show them just how deep it goes" -- sure does. "Don't mind the cameras, let them see your black out baby" -- when it becomes too much
my interpretation only, though.
I always thought it was "black out."
It says "Don't mind the cameras - let them see you're back out, baby!" --
So far as I know.
Let them see your black out tonight... (first time around)
Let them see your black heart baby! (2nd time)
i think thats what he says
