I don't think I'm going to go to L.A. Anymore
I don't think I'm going to go to L.A. Anymore
I don't know what it's like to land and
Not race to your door
I don't think I'm going to go to L.A. Anymore
I don't think I'm going to go to L.A. Anymore
I'm not sure that I really ever could
Hold on to your hotel key
And your bedroom neighborhood
And be sleepwalking in Hollywood

I'm going to steer clear
Or burn up in your atmosphere
I'm going to steer clear
'Cause I'd die if I saw you
I'd die if I didn't see you there
So I don't think I'm going to go to L.A. Anymore

I don't think I'm going to go to L.A. Anymore
I'd get lost on the boulevard at night
Without your voice to tell me
"I love you, take a right"
The ten and the two is the loneliest sight, oh yeah

Oh oh ooh
I'm going to steer clear
Or burn up in your atmosphere
I'm going to steer clear
'Cause I'd die if I saw you
I'd die if I didn't see you
I'm going to steer clear, oh yeah
Or burn up in your atmosphere
I'm going to steer clear
'Cause I'd die if I saw you
I'd die if I didn't see you there
See you there

I think I'm going to stay, going to stay in the gray
Think I'm going to stay
And all the street lights say "Never mind, never mind"
And the canyon lines say "Never mind"
The sunset says "We see this all the time"
Never mind
Never you mind

Wherever I go
Whatever I do
I wonder where I am in my relationship to you
Wherever you go
Wherever you are
I watch your life play out in pictures from afar
Wherever I go
Whatever I do, oh
I wonder where I am in my relationship to you
Wherever you go
Wherever you are
I watch that pretty life play out in pictures from afar
Ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

This guy is the voice for every nerd, spaz or love addict that could really never get over the girl you just couldn't have or keep around. This song is about the girl that broke your heart and wish to see everyday. But if you did see her all you could do is just die of fear. So instead you look at her profile on her social network page and just watch her develop on her profile pics. Then finally ask yourself "What if"

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

When We Were Young

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
