i think it has something to do with college deadlines and the 4 yrs = highschool but idk what the "favorite lines" are
Although the 4 years of highschool thing makes sense, at one of their shows a few months back, Maika had said it was about not giving up. Hence the line "Please don't give up."

When your deadlines become my days and nights (The fact that the person has to meet this deadline stresses the singer as he begins to constantly worry) I'll take all your favorite lines (seems like the singer is mocking this person as his/her deadline approaches by throwing all of this person's excuses ["favorite lines"] at his or her face. not sure (When you needed it the most) (this seems to me that the singer could've reminded the person about his excuses at an earlier time so that the person could've avoided the stress of having to meet this deadline as it approaches) As your deadlines end tonight (are approaching rapidly lulz)

And you were startled by the fact That you c-could've had it better off by now (person realizes that he or she could've improved his or her ability to meet deadlines by now or could've been stress free if she or he had just completed assignment by deadline) It's not over until the quiet are calmed down (The stress is not over until the "quiet" when working or studying, someone is usually quiet, and "calmed" is that the stress is not over and one can not be calm until assignment is accomplished) Oh yes, maybe its too plain To stand on solid ground (maybe has something to do with drinking/partying and this caused the procastination, or maybe singer is being sarcastic about this peron's lifestyle and saying that maybe completing an assignment without being rushed as when trying to complete an assignment the day before it is do, is too "plain" and too boring [singer is probably being sarcastic and criticizing person's procastination) It got old, but you cant blame it all on me (person blaming his procastination on singer)
I could be getting this all wrong and perhaps it could be about the singer with a person and as this person prefers to waste his or her time with the singer instead of completing an assignment that is due shortly (the deadline )... I get this from when your deadlines become my days and nights as the person would rather spend time with the singer instead of focusing on assignment... yeah deadlines could probablby taken metaphorically and not literal but yeah I try.
