Kind of trapped by a relationship but reluctant for it to end, because they still have a rough hope that it might get better one day... But they deny this hope, and cant make up their mind up...

And in the end, the hope over-rules, and they decide to stay together

I see this song about having a relationship with a place. Feeling alone at a place but not willing to leave it. and the hope of being somewhere else.

But it's possibley just the place being a reminder of a previous relationship.
