im pretty sure its about craig's daughter, and him leaving her to go tour and stuff like that.

here's my version of it. probably not gonna make much sence though

"nothing lasts forever, step back and make it better" that might mean like, craig being with BTF wouldnt last forever, he made it better by joining a new band.

"take a dose of reality, this is how it ends" again could do with like craig and BTF arent always going to be together, so he has to realize it.

"cause this time we will last forever this time we will be much better i know were not looking back again" might mean he plans on making The Word Alive work better than BTF did.

"oh my god, she's just a little girl" and "daddys leaving out the back door, not again" referring to how craig would leave his daughter to like be with BTF and stuff, now he is trying harder to be with him more.

like i said, doesnt really make much sence, but some does.

I think xxDylanIsHardcorexx is right. Craig is talking about not being able to be with his daughter enough and all the problems he was having when he was in btf, like his alcoholism. Craig is a christian so he is kinda blaming all this on the devil and he is saying how the devil tries to destroy everything (we all have the devil hidden deep inside). I think the part saying "oh my god shes just a little girl" is intended directly to the devil, and how he is even trying to destroy the life of a little girl. xxDylanIsHardcorexx is right about the "this time we will be much better i know were not looking back again" part, about how he will avoid these problems now with his new band.

This is my opinion on what this great song means anyways.

craig had a alcohol problem and his daughter suffered from it he was always drunk... and he enjoyed it it took all his problems away so wen he gave it up it didnt last forever...nothing was real to him wen he was drunk thats y btf left him...hes not looking bak at the alcohol not going bak to wat he was

btf didnt leave him, he left them, and when he tried to come back they wouldnt let him...

then they asked him to come back a day after etf released the new album
