It's definitely telling people to life their own life while living in the moment. Don't listen to anyone else because they don't know who you truly are.
Also, Brent's voice is simply amazing for this song.
I think this song is about empowering yourself (as in inner monologue) or someone else to stop being afraid to be yourself, and if people don't let who you are then they can go to hell.
I also think its a shot at the recording industry trying to take total control over the artist.

I love Shinedown but I think their giving in to the recording industry as their becoming more popular. They manage themselves right now and if they sign to a big entertainment group like Warner Brothers, then their music/lyrics will be controlled.

I think it's "Ever since you told me you're for real" and then "inside" is part of the next line.
Also, I hear "Who cares who's there?" Not "Who cares? He's there"

This song says to me that you are in control of your life and you shouldn't let other people control your actions....I mean who cares what they say...we are all living in a world that isn't fair...well guess what life isn't fair.....
