Invisible Movement Lyrics

Extra time when you think it's all over
Live a life when you've rolled over and died
I don't feel pain
I don't travel this line
Levitate and feel the ground get closer
Ecstasy made every step a mile
When it becomes a waste
Why hold on for dear life

Wide pain in the blue white break up
All paths divide
Life has a way of opening up

All names travel with their owner
Tho' they've no space, they move all around
I see invisible movement in every town
Every cry is a separate emotion
Happenings are planned
And then they arrive
They go on with or without you there

Wide pain in the blue white break up
All paths divide
Life has a way of opening up

Wide pain in the blue white break up
All paths divide
Life has a way of opening up

This song is amazing and deep and very emotional. I'm going through something similar so it means a lot to know theres someone else thats felt this way.

Extra time when you think it's all over Live a life when you've rolled over and died (life goes on, even after you think its the end. even after you've given up on life, you still have to face being alive) I don't feel pain I don't travel this line (he's escaping with drugs, numbing the pain) Levitate and feel the ground get closer Ecstasy made every step a mile When it becomes a waste Why hold on for dear life (having given up on life, he feels no reason to hold onto anything, himself, and in his detachment he finds himself closer to some kind of understanding) Wide pain in the blue white break up All paths divide Life has a way of opening up (he knows that all things end, the happiness he had before and the inevitable moment when the drug wears off and he's going to have to face his pain. "life has a way of opening up", no matter how much you bottle up or run away from your feelings they always have to be faced eventually)

All names travel with their owner Tho' they've no space, they move all around I see invisible movement in every town Every cry is a separate emotion Happenings are planned And then they arrive They go on with or without you there (he's looking at the world, the way we attribute names and ideas and create a world beyond the real one inside our minds and try to explain everything. "every cry is a separate emotion" implies there's a lot more to what people feel than just "sadness", but the world only sees names. i'm pretty sure the "invisible movement" he's describing is the world beyond what we can name that most people are blind to. "happenings are planned--they go on with or without you" is describing how the world continues doing the same thing it was even after he's given up and taken himself out of the equation.

sounds like a drug song, the first eight lines especially make me think this.

The title's "Invisible Movement" ... same thing with line 14. I think this is more about the way he sees life now, after the drugs and near-death, or the ideas and impressions he got from the whole experience, rather than just about being on drugs. Drugs were a way to open the mind and deal with your insignificance.

Somehow, I believe that the "drugs" parts that has already been mentioned is right in a way; that it's about John (!) being on drugs, doing what he wanted to do. Then we hear the more abstract part, which should (in my life) be applied to everything.

"All paths divide" and down; life is being lived constantly, by billions of different and unique people. The names are a metaphor for souls and uniqueness. We all have different goals and motivations, different loves and different pasts; no human is two - "Every cry is a separate emotion".

Really, I think this about being yourself, doing what you think is right and respecting that others are different. Life is what you make of it, and life can never be any more than what you find within yourself.

That's my take on it, at least in a bit of a shortened version. As always, the songs says everything better than me!

Yeah, the song is amazing. In my opinion, the lyrics are about the new beginnings. Ending a relationship with anyone or anything gives your life a chance to open up, gives you a chance to start a relationship with something or someone that makes you happier.

I'd say that that the beginning lyrics about John's personal situation, 'relationship' with drugs and near death, and then in 2nd part of the song he puts his personal experience in use of a wider conclusion about breakups giving you a chance of creating new relationships.
