Hallucinations Lyrics
Observe my obsession with someone new
Don't feel like someone new
The connection is real with someone new
In this tomb I call love
I get so lonesome with you
Or without you sweetheart
The hellhound's here
Hallucinate my love
Nothing's real in the morn
When I rise I'll leave you to die
You to die, you to die
Don't feel like someone new
The connection is real with someone new
I get so lonesome with you
Or without you sweetheart
The hellhound's here
Nothing's real in the morn
When I rise I'll leave you to die
You to die, you to die

I think what the lyrics are trying to say is that obsessions with new people are normal. It's real with someone new because you never know what you're going to get. I guess, technically it's not real, but you're so intrigued by what it could be, that it FEELS real.
"tomb" of love refers to being in love with only one person, when, who (besides society) is to say that we are only to love one person? ... it is a tomb, and you do get lonesome with the same person, no matter how much you love them - so you want to hallucinate - and when you get up in the morning, the partner is "dead" (leave you to die) because you get up in the morning and leave them and search for other things...(things that, most of the time you can't have...hallucinations...but something real, something new)
I agree, i think its about the expectations of society to fall in love and commit yourself to one person, but all the while you cant ignore the melancholy of it all... you start to look around and imagine being happier, more alive, re experiencing that 'new love' happiness.
I love this song. All of their songs are so unique sounding...i've yet to find a band that has their sound.
I can't over get how dreamy this song is
I see the lyrics as describing a state of entrapment in total grief from a previous broken relationship. - "In this tomb I call love, I get so lonesome with you". Upon this discovery of a new love, which the person seems to have deemed impossible, they are prepared to leave their state of mourning for their lost love. When they rise (to this new love), they will leave the past (and their mournful love for the past relationship) to die.
