I think this song is about a very bloody, violent relationship and Alice is singing the part of a enraged male who rapes, abuses, and murders a woman. "she was made to tear apart" like she was made for him to "tear" like she is an object to him. "stab her with my hunting knife" and "fucking tramp" definatley gives us the sense of how violent the narrator of this song is. i definatley think the song tells a story.

I always thought it was "iron fist, iron heart", instead of "I am fierce, I am hard"

anddd i think this song is about a female sleeping with a guy, (verse 1) then her mom finds out and beats/hurts her. (verses 2,3) cause everyone keeps saying its about a girl cheating on her husband, and him beating her after. but then why does alice put mother knows best in it. :S

I used to think it was

Lol.

And later, it sounds more like, "Thou should be closer to God" not "She should feel closer to God".

Still, I like the other version better. The "c-c-c is for cunt" line was the best part of the song.

"She's my bloody (fon-lic, it sounds like, but that's not a word) lover"

I definitely hear "lover" in the last word, and four-leaf clover just seems a bit... odd, after the rest of the song.

I think that "iron fist, iron heart" are more powerful lyrics.

Also to me this song is about sleeping with someone who has nasty S.T.D's and they haven't told you. The lyrics have a lot of anger so I am assuming it's someone the lyricist once cared for, perhaps a partner and they were sharing their private parts around.

this song is not about STDS LOL!!! its about a mother who is convinced that her daughter's a slut and wants to beat on her as punishment for simply having sex in high school. ergo she must have herpes. Thats why she says iron heart, and, theres a sickness inside she needs to hunt, tried to love her now i'll beat her..its the mother talking and shes justifying putting her hands on her daughter by assuming that shes a slut because she probably had sex which is why her dress smelled afterwards, but to Alice, I would assume that she sees this treatment as unfair especially considering she was in high school at the time. having sex would have been par for the course. We know shes in high school because she mentions a football field.

Reminds me of Carrie's mum.
