Then I Met You Lyrics
Thought that I’d be happy
Going to be so happy
Living life alone and never sharing anything
Thought that I was finished
Thought that I was complete
Thought that I was whole instead of being half of something
Thought that I was growing
Growing older, wiser
Understanding why this world held nothing for my spirit
Thought that I was destined
Destined to be nothing
Destined to be nothing in this world and then I met you.
I met you
I met you
I met you
I met you
Thought that God had failed me
Thought my prayers were useless
Thought that he would never give the chance for me to praise him
Thought the book was written
Thought the game had ended
Thought the song was sung and I could never sing another
Thought my faith was misplaced
Thought my back was broken
Broken by a weight that I was never fit to carry
Thought I knew this city
Thought I knew all about it
And then one night I went to morningside and you were waiting
I met you
I met you
I met you
I met you
Thought that I’d be happy
Going to be so happy
Living life alone and never sharing anything
Thought that I was finished
Thought that I was complete
Thought that I was whole instead of being half of something
Thought that I was growing
Growing older, wiser
Understanding why this world held nothing for my spirit
Thought that I was destined, ha
Destined to be nothing, ha
Destined to be nothing in this world and then I met you.

Its about someone changing the others opinion on something. In this case love.
Thinking everything in your life is just rosy, then meeting someone and realising your life isn't good without them and having them in it would make it one-hundred times better.
This song is kind of on here twice. This is the correct title.
LOVE IT!
This is a great song. I agree with ZooaRoo. I'm a singleton and I'm happy. So many people think that I should hurry up and get married. However, why should I settle for someone that doesn't make me feel like this song?

In Jerry Maguire there was a big deal made about you complete me. I don't feel like I'm 1/2 a person. I like the way this was worded. I felt that I was whole...
In Jerry Maguire there was a big deal made about you complete me. I don't feel like I'm 1/2 a person. I like the way this was worded. I felt that I was whole but with you I realize I'm 1/2 of something even better than my whole was.
For me this expresses the futility of figuring life on your own, thinking of God as distant and nebulous. The fact he now knows the load he tried to carry, he was not fit for indicates who is, the savior Jesus Christ. I see Morningside as the name of a church, and he experienced the personal introduction to the Lord... who'd been waiting on him.
