Look Out Sunshine! Lyrics
Well look out Sunshine here they go
They got yesterday's heroes in last night's clothes
You're a game old boy judging by the way you walk
Well there's no use telling me to leave
I've seen a half of dozen ghosts but I don't believe
I'm a cynical cunt and I'm much too lazy to change
And tell my friends I'll be around
Getting nowhere sleeping somewhere
With a girl I dreamed oh yeah
And sing that old song how does it go?
Look out Sunshine here's the punch line
No one gets you any more
Well look out Sunshine here they come
But they only play for money you better not run
It's the sell out show that no one wants to go to, yeah
Well there's none so blind as them that don't agree
They steal the money from your pockets almost viciously
You're a sane old boy and you're much too crazy to change
And tell my friends I'll be around
Getting nowhere sleeping somewhere
With a girl I dreamed oh yeah
And sing that old song how does it go?
Look out Sunshine here's the punch line
No one gets you any more
And what do you mean you were born to love this scene
And they would string you up gladly
If they knew just how lazy you'd been
Tell my friends I'll be around
And tell my friends I'll be around
Getting nowhere sleeping somewhere
With a girl I dreamed oh yeah
And sing that old song how does it go?
Look out Sunshine here's the punch line
No one gets you any, no one needs you any
No one gets you any more
They got yesterday's heroes in last night's clothes
You're a game old boy judging by the way you walk
Well there's no use telling me to leave

does anyone else think this has a bit of the beatles sound to it?
I always thought they had a Beatles sound. xD
But yeah, this one more than others, definitely. Great song though.
Ace song from an ace band! I love the Fratellis!
WHAT A SONGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I think it sounds very Beatles-esque.
I think this song is funny because it sounds very upbeat, but when you read the lyrics they seem somewhat hostile or condescending. I can't figure out if he's talking to a person or to himself, but I can imagine him talking to a [now] ex girlfriend "No one gets you anymore," or possibly a fellow band member (since he calls him/her "old boy") who he's pissed at for "telling me to leave." The 'Sunshine' part just comes across as really sarcastic.
If he's talking to himself, it sounds like he's angry at himself for working for the music biz- "steal money from your pockets"- or he's disappointed that he has a "sell-out show," and no one else understands his frustration...
Any other ideas?
One of the reasons i love the fratellis is because their lyrics are so clever. To me, it does sound like he's talking to an old girlfriend. But there are also some important themes to the song. "Yesterday's heroes in last night's clothes..." ( i thought it was IN last night's clothes but im not sure.) If so i think it means that everyone has their shining moment, and they'll find themselves still living in the past but no longer needed. hence, "no one gets you any...no one needs you any...no one gets you anymore" That's another example of how clever the fratellis...
