Breaking My Own Heart

Out of all her songs, this is my favourite, I can't believe no-one's commented on it yet. Heh, this song could've been written for me, it's scary.

It's about unrequited love, but when it gets so so painful, it's hard to cope anymore. It's a love thats incredibly destructive and shameful to the person - 'Love is killing me'. Also, as the person kept clinging onto the hope that the love would be returned, she's almost is breaking her own heart, cause she clings to false hope, and it hurts.
The 'Save Me' verses are just a cry out, to anyone for someone to just save them. Self-explanatory really. I love the pain, hurt and desperation in this song, it portrays the emotions beautifully. Definitely my favourite.

For some reason, I feel like I've heard a similar melody or something as when she sings "Breaking my own heart, breaking my own heart" etc. It's a great song, and I can only echo what HoliHallow wrote. A bit like tricking yourself that there's still hope, which only leads to more pain, that you are, kind of, responsible for in the end.

i actually think that this sounds like Erik the Phantom. yes that is a weird interpretation of the song, but it sounds like him and christine after she left him and hes calling for help
