i actually don't think this is about sleeping beauty, i think its about snow white. because..

"The wild beasts are ravenous, they will soon devour you" when she is left alone in the woods and there were wild beast chasing after her.

"A most deep and subtle poison welcomes her unblinking eyes to eternal sleep" snow white is given a poison apple and falls into a deep sleep

"Who is the fairest of all? Tell me again! Tell me again! You know its me!" the queen is constanly asking the mirror 'who is the fairest of them all'

its about a guy who loses his girl to a jackass... a false "prince charming" who is the knight in shining armor but in reality he will just let her down(not all knights in shining armor can make your dreams come true)

the guy just needs to show his girl his feelings and he can save her.

i love this song. this is one of the few alesana songs that you can take as something other than a story. it could be about abuse or just a bad guy having his girl. he's working really hard and fighting to get her back. he also blames himself for letting her go. a simple kiss to bring her back can just be his love for her. this is just my interpertation.

I think of this "knight in shining armor/prince charming" as a popped collar abercrombie wearing b!tch, haha :) The shinning armor is the glisten of his fake tanorexic skin. "The wild beasts are ravenous, they will soon devour you" they will only devour you after the roofie is slipped in your drink.

Haha, that is just what i thought of upon hearing/reading this song, only cuz i see all sorts of these skycranes around campus, and by skycrane i mean, the biggest 'tool' in the world (lame i know, but kinda funny :) )

Alesana tends to double face things. the obvious way to look at this song is that its about the concept of sleeping beauty hence the prince charming, the poison, blah blah. you get the point. but it also has an under side to the way you can look at it. like previously stated, it could also have a moral description such as abuse.

just another reason to love the song writing.

and by the way, the false prince charming is talking about prince rupert, from the story. the other prince in the beginning that is thought to be a loser or false?

and the followup with "come and claim your queen" is referring to the "kiss will end the spell" from the story.

oh man im in LOVE with their song writing agree with Iamthepuppet about how Alesana tends to put two sides on each song and i love it. their songs actually make u think. theyre amazing!

stepphh is right, it's definitely Snow White. Other than those reasons, there's also this:

"A simple kiss to bring her back, to make this story end" Like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White also ends in a kiss.

Sleeping Beauty's prince has a name, but Snow White's is refered to only as Prince Charming.

Also, The Univited Thirteenth is clearly about Sleeping Beauty, and I doubt they'd have two songs about the same thing.

Ok.... just to clear a few things up. the song is kind of an amalgamation of the two storys, but its if prince charming didnt make it. thats why its titled better luck next time prince charming. secondly and most importantly, Alesana writes solely based on the concept of what they are aiming for. No double meanings. However, they absolutely love the fact that people take their own interpretation to the song which is the main goal. So to make it easy, they write about a story, but are glad people take what they need/want out of the song for themselves. cant wait to tour with them again in the fall...

i think the last line should be "we'll make your dreams come true"
