this is a story about a cannibal dude who falls in love with some chick and is stuck between killing her or loving her and letting her go....yeah....

im sorry but hansel and gretel seems a little hard to fit with these lines: Does she know before I met her I have only dreamt of so much blood? (why would hansel dream of blood?) She is no longer yours! (who's?) and plus shawn says in one of the recording videos that its about a cannibal that marries a girl lol

Actually, traciii's explanation does make sense if you point out that their would be alternating speakers. Besides the general theme of the cd, I think, involves fairytales and legends...hence the title. I could be wrong though.

Or the tale of Bluebeard... You know. He's killed about seven wives and then the eighth discovers the body. He tries to kill her, but then her brothers come to save her. Not sure though.

In my opinion, I think this song is about a these monsters who kill and devour people. These monsters plan to eat a young girl. So one of them tries to charm her and while doing so falls in love with her. He's torn between killing her and loving her, and feels guilty of the plans to destroy her. I think he may have warned her and she tries to get away. In the end the monsters fight the one in love with her. It's a beautiful song full of guilt and confusion, i love it.

Like most alesana songs, this is a story, but hansel and gretel? Don't think so^_^. Im pretty sure this is about either two people, or one person with schizophrenia. For the sake of simplicity, I will wright this as if it were two people but keep in mind it could be one person. Okay, so these two dudes are crazy murderers who enjoy torturing and killing people and stuff like that. They have this girl captured as their prisoner, obviously super hot, because one of the crazy dudes gets too attached. This is the main idea of the song, like a reverse stockholm syndrome, he is now very confused, he is falling in love but he knows he has to kill her, and cant make up his mind. Now he starts feeling guilty for everything else he has done, most likely with his killing buddy. The other dude of course cant wait to kill her. His deliberation gives her a chance to escape, and its not mentioned after that what happens to her. So as I'm writing this I'm becoming more convinced this is about a schizophrenic. The Evidence: Well why wouldn't crazy dude #2 just kill her, he wanted to, only thing stopping him was the other fella, an inner struggle thing. Also, "Would someone please tell me I'm not alright, How could you fall for my charming charade?" "Its time we throw away the mask. What have we done? We got too attached! We can't let her escape!" the whole song just sounds like a confused crazy guy. Thanks for reading, let me know what you think

This song, with meaning and all, reminds me sooo much of the Twilight series. Except Edward has more control than the cannibal, but still, "dreamt of blood" Vampire, etc Love it
