Facade Lyrics

No one knows just what has become of her
Shattered doll, desperate
Oh so innocent and delicate
But too damn obdurate
And obstinate to let go

Broken down, hurt again, it never ends
Frightened and trembling
Did she fall again? An accident?
Her eyes encircled in black again
I can't believe that she's still with him

For how long will you try?
How long until you walk away?
Your facade can't disguise
The fact that you're in misery

Look inside see what has become of her
Hiding within again
Can she pick herself up again?
It's just too difficult and arduous to let go

Homicide flashes through her mind again
No more pain, take control
If he raises his hand again
She'll find her freedom in killing him
The world will see that she's had enough

For how long will you try?
How long until you walk away?
Your facade can't disguise
The fact that you're in misery

For how long will you try?
How long until you walk away?
From the look in your eyes
I know you bleed internally

For how long will you deny?
How long until you walk away?
Your facade can't disguise
The fact that you're in misery

For how long will you try?
How long until you walk away?
Your facade can't disguise
The fact that you're in misery

Broken down, hurt again
It never ends

going beyond the narration, the song explains that its important to know how and when to let go. Do not perpetuate a blind reality.

It's about a woman in a bad relationship that is trying to pretend that everything is ok and great when it really isn't, hence the title "Facade"

this is a song about a girl in an abusive relationship, and he (narrator) just cant see why she stays with him (boyfriend) when he (narrator) can see how miserable she is and how shes wearing a "facade" everyday to make it seem like everything is ok when its not.

Guitarchick is right about the meaning of how its about a woman covering up the fact that shes in an abusive relationship.

A few Lyrics Corrections :

"Oh So Innocent and never get to demodulate enough to let the man go" Should be "Oh so innocent and delicate, but too damn moderate and obstinate to let go"

"Her eyes encircled in, what I don't get" should be "Her eyes encircled in, black again"

"it's just too difficult to know you must then go" should be "it's just too difficult, too arduous to let go"

Great Song

my mistake the line should be "But too damn obdurate And obstinate to let go"

This song is really about a woman whois in a abusive and controlling realtionship. She aparentlly love the guy so much that she dosen't want to let go or dosen't care for her own life.

I was wondering if anyone saw the other set of lyrics for this song. They are beautifully writen. So it jsut make me wonder. Did they boys in Disturbed write the lyrics and decided not to use them or some crazed fan wrote them and post them as Disturbed lyrics for the song. If anyone has any info drop me a line.

It's about a woman in an abusive relationship who is keeping up a happy appearance to the public, but it's merely a facade to hide her pain, hence the line, "I know you bleed internally" which can be taken literally..and it's also about her taking control of her life, "if he raises his hand again, she'll find the freedom in killing him...the world will see she's had enough!" Great song

this song is pretty straight forward as far as the meaning, but ill give my input anyway.

to me it's basicly about a girl who's in an abusive relationship, and has been for song time. shes absolutly dying inside, but she tryins to cover it up and pretend everything is ok. the song is being sung from somebody looking in from the outside wondering why this girl is staying in the relationship and and putting herself through so much hell even tho her and everybody els knows that she is in total misery. and eventually, the girl snaps, and ends up murdering the guy. so like 1987 dude said, this song is very simmilar to never again by nickelback.

i can somewhat relate to this song...this song paints a much more extreme case than my experience, but i have a really good friend that was in a relationship that she absolutly had to get out of, and eventually did. (thank god)

I have to agree with most of the comments esp. TigerLlama31. I have to say I admire Disturbed for composing this song since it really does strike us, that there are women out there right now, in this very second as you may be reading this enduring an abusive relationship. Whether it be with a lover, boyfriend, husband, family members or friend(s), they still remain in that relstionship and hoplessly believe that things will turn out for the better and that the person that keeps hurting them will change, which in most cases, is rare. Just like Turn Soonest To The Sea by PTH, Facade by Disturbed makes us think of how women in society (especially in impoverish countries) are being opressed by social, political, religious values and doctrines that seem to be created and implemented into the system by men. But anyways lets not take the spot light away from the song which I think is an awesome piece by a kickass band.
