Oh man, this song almost made me cry.

I hear it as a political song about our government putting down society and keeping them in check. The people at the top don't care about the ridiculous number of deaths for unnecessary war.

The majority of the rich want to keep the wars coming so that the status quo is maintained, and their family tree stays wealthy at the expense of human lives.

I think that this song could also be referencing the holocaust. The lead singer is Jewish.

I know that this site is about being subjective, but excuse me if I call Raspo's opinion absolutely ridiculous. You took one line from the song and based the entire meaning of it on something so silly like that, when it's clear the song is talking about the awful government in this country. And if that is wrong, then at least I was probably closer than you.

As a Jew, I can really relate this song to the hollocaust. I really think this is what the song is singing about, but does anyone know where I can find what David has to say about it? This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

According to vocalist David Draiman, the song's meaning is a message to the world leaders. Letting them know about the pain they caused by all the people who have fought and died in war and asking them, "Isn't death alone a good enough reason to stop all of this conflict?"
