Rescue Lyrics

I'm pushing up daisies, I wish they were roses
I feel like I'm drowning but nobody knows it
I'm pushing up daisies, I wish they were roses
I feel like I'm dying, just want you to notice

somehow the grave has captured me
show me the man I used to be
just when I feel my breath is running out

the earth moves and you find me, alive but unworthy
broken and empty, but you don't care
cuz you are my rapture, you are my savior
when all my hope is gone, I reach for you
you are my rescue
you are my rescue

I'm swimming to safety, but even with my best
if I don't see that rope soon, this might be my last breath

somehow the grave has captured me
show me the man I used to be
just when I feel my breath is running out

the earth moves and you find me, alive but unworthy
broken and empty, but you don't care
because you are my rapture, you are my savior
when all my hope is gone, I reach for you
you are my rescue

don't let me drown
can you hear me
cuz I am
"drawlin out" (not sure)
I'm underground
won't you pull me out

the earth moves and you find me, alive but unworthy
broken and empty, but you don't care
because you are my rapture, you are my savior
when all my hope is gone, I reach for you
you are my rescue
you are my rescue
yeah, you are my REScue
yeah! you are MY resCUE

I'm pushing up daisies, I wish they were roses
I feel like I'm dying, just want you to notice...

Although some have cited this song as being Christian in nature, due to the references to "savior" and Seabird's reputation as a Christian band, I feel like it can be about any relationship that has the power to save you from yourself. It could be religious, romantic, or neither; a close friendship or relationship with a mentor could achieve the same results.

100% agree you on that. Great band, very talented. Excellent show.

I love this song. It's just sounds to me like it's about someone really important in his life who he looks to for strength.

The correct lyrics:

don't let me drown can you hear me cuz I am callin' out I'm underground won't you pull me out

And you people kill me..find every excuse why this isn't a christian song. All the lyrics clearly show how this is a song about God. "Rapture", "savior", just the song in its entirety. Naive.....

Although, I would agree that it is indeed about God. I think Seabird would agree, music is beautiful for many reasons, but the main reason is that you can take their lyrics anyway you want. Don't judge people just because they interpret a song differently than you. Ya dig?

You can accept a song for what it means to you. I know that this song meant a lot to me during a breakup for romantic reasons. And now that I have a family member with cancer, the song has taken on a brand new meaning for me spiritually. There's no reason to judge people for their interpretation of a song.
