DJs Get Doubts Lyrics
Some say, Shaun Walsh saved our city
And to a certain extent, that's probably true
Our nights are hardly dull as such
But the queues at the bar mean you don't drink as much
And let Fresher's chant,
"what's the alternative? You became the establishment, you were always conservative"
I'm happy but I'd hardly call this dancing as such
Like lovers holding hands and mostly losing touch
These little white lies
Drag you through the colder nights
These little white lies
Tear you in two like a Christmas cracker
And I've been drinking with the champagne girls
Drew a cross on my belly and it probably worked
We used each other up and now we leave each other alone
Dealer's round her flat and now the cash is gone
And there's no such thing as a free night out,
Guestlists cost and DJs get doubts
Promises stuck like that stuff in your hair
Had about as much effect and hung lifelessly there
These little white lies
Drag you through the colder nights
These little white lies
Tear you in two like a Christmas cracker
These little white lies
Drag you through the colder nights
These little white lies
Drag you through the colder nights
Awoooooo, awooooooo
These little white lines
And to a certain extent, that's probably true
Our nights are hardly dull as such
But the queues at the bar mean you don't drink as much
And let Fresher's chant,
"what's the alternative? You became the establishment, you were always conservative"

"dinners round the flat" to me, sounds like dealers round the flat. "no such thing as a free night out; guestlist's cost?
basically going by ear, but i've listened a far bit to this song. x

Shaun Walsh is probably the most popular 'alt' DJ in Birmingham - JoFo's home town. He's old, past it and his nights are definitely dull. Yet all the kids in Birmingham still flock to the the shitty little club nights every week because they don't know any better - either that or they still enjoy stale indie.
Sorry to say it but Edcrfvtgb's comment on here is totally wrong. Shaun Walsh is actually a building firm that helped construct the bullring shopping centre and many new buildings of the city. Jofo are against this because they say that this killed off the spark and individuality that the city once had.

The song is about the sad reinvention of Brum.
The song is about the sad reinvention of Brum.
and Shaun Walsh has kindly reviewed the album on hmv.co.uk
Shaun Walsh is a building firm that helped to construct the bullring shopping centre and many over "reinvention" buildings in Brum city centre. Jofo are against this move as they say that it killed off the raw edge of the city.
hey yeah you're right. Edcrfvtgb's comment seems more in keeping with the rest of the song, but when asked about cranes and cranes and cranes and cranes, alexei said

"Why’d you wanna live here if there’s nothing but housing” is paraphrased from the words of Shaun Walsh, probably the wisest thing anyone’s ever said about Birmingham’s ‘regeneration’."
