Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.
It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word
And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry
I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye
Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never been this way before
All you can do is try to know who your friends are
As you head off to the war
Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye
Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget
Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
'Til they're before your eyes
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word
And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry
I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye
Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never been this way before
All you can do is try to know who your friends are
As you head off to the war
Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye
Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget
Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
'Til they're before your eyes
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye

The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
I want to say that I really really like this song!! I like Regina Spektor a lot, but here she sounds just a little bit different, but it suites her. I don't realy know what it's about, but I just think it's about a joung girl and boy in love, but it's a silent love, one no one knows about. (Maybe it's a secret love, not allowed to excist?) But for some reason, the boy have to go away, here for the battle, may be something else. He has to leave her. But yet they know that their love is true and that if they wait long enough at the end, they wil come back together, because it's ment to be. And finally, everything will be allright.. (like a happily ever after :)
wow i really like this song!!!!!! Ya i no im a 14 year old guy so why dont i like rap? Because it sucks!!! Well any way this song is really powerful and meaningful and really catchy too. Its the type of song that gets you choked up and you cant really figure out why. I think the word might be forbiden love or something along that line. If any one want to talk about this or other good music email me at<br /> <br /> sammy123iscool@hotmail.com
I would've thought it described the story of Narnia. <br /> <br /> "I'll come back<br /> When you call me<br /> No need to say goodbye"<br /> <br /> <br /> Talks of the way that the children enter Narnia when the people of Narnia call for them, rather than just barging in. <br /> <br /> Now we're back to the beginning<br /> It's just a feeling and no one knows yet<br /> But just because they can't feel it too<br /> Doesn't mean that you have to forget<br /> <br /> Talks about how when the children return to earth, they are the only ones that know about Narnia and how just because the rest of the world doesn't know about it doesn't mean that they should forget it. <br /> <br /> Let your memories grow stronger and stronger<br /> Until they're before your eyes<br /> You'll come back<br /> When they call you<br /> No need to say goodbye<br /> <br /> Suggests that the Peter, Susan, Lucy and Edmund should remember Narnia vivedly, and that they will return when they are called back. <br />
yeah that's right. this song was for narnia. it plays towards the ending of "prince caspian." regina was inspired to write this song after watching the film before it was completely done and she was so moved by the movie that she stayed up all night to write it. the next morning, she had finished it and played it for the andrew adamson over the phone.<br /> <br /> it's a beautiful song and i wish i could hear it all the time. =]
@Janaake <br /> Im literally going through exactly what you just explained. This guy and I really like each other and we have become really good friends but now are forbidden to talk to each other but I have faith and hope that if this is ment to be then It´ll all work out in the end and he will come back adventually so theres no need to say goodbye
