Salt, Peppa and Spinderella Lyrics
We walk out like lions short on prey and move noisily toward the gate
All pride, how wide are my eyes?
Are you hungry now?
Are you hungry now?
We like to watch the fights break out and end in grief from these cheap plastic seats
And hold each other a little closer
We've got a place for the night
What are you worried about?
We've got our answerphones
Are you hungry now?
what are you hungry for?
We've got our alibis straight
What are you worried about?
I think I liked you more when you were worse
(Are you hungry now? What are you hungry for?)
Blackbird on my back again
I caught a shock but my heart's still beating
Stop shaking your hips at me
You could learn a little less from photography, sure
We like to watch the fights break out and end in grief from these cheap plastic seats
And hold each other a little closer
We've got our friends in the city
What are you worried about?
We've got our alibis
Are you hungry now?
What are you hungry for?
We've got our answerphones on
What are you worried about?
I think I liked you more when you were worse
And in the point between the rain outside and hanging suspended in the air and the room around you spinning.
You'll find the time if you need it. 2,500 miles apart and I never saw it clearer.
We prayed for moments like this. Little sparks, little hits from someone else's God.
How hanging out of the 15th storey windows never felt so relaxing.
Bring out the real fun, turn on the real drums.
Doot doot doot doot doot
All pride, how wide are my eyes?
Are you hungry now?
Are you hungry now?
We like to watch the fights break out and end in grief from these cheap plastic seats
And hold each other a little closer

With the help of the music video, I've pretty much got Alexei's spoken word bit spot on:
And at the points between the wait outside and hanging suspended in the air and the room around you is spinning. You'll find the time if you need it. 2,500 miles apart and I never saw it clearer. We played for moments like this. Little sparks, little hits from someone else's God. How hanging out of the 15th storey window has never felt so relaxing. Bring out the real fun. I love this song so much. It's like a summer anthem. Going into the city and sleeping on random peoples' floors after house parties.
"We've got a place for the night, what are you worried about?" Just reminds me of living for the moment. Plus, I'm addicted to songs where the singers make "doo doo doo" sounds.
Real lyrics: We walk out like lions, short on prey and move noisily towards the gate. All pride, how wide are my eyes? Are you hungry now? Are you hungry now?
We like to watch the fights break out, an ending creep from these cheap plastic seats, and hold each other a little closer.
We've got a place for the night, what are you worried about? We've got our answerphones, are you hungry now, are you hungry for?
caught a shot, but my heart's still bleeding...
"We like to watch the fights break out an ending creep from these cheap plastic seats"
is it not "we like to watch the fights break out and end in grief from these cheap plastic seats"?
What does this song mean to you? I don't know exactly what it means but, i got stuck on the 63 bus today coming out of a flooded Birmingham and played this song maybe 18 times! Has there been a better song this year?!
this song is the epitome of me and my best friend. we used to live outside the perimeter of the city, and drove 25 minutes in just to meet and go out.. and we had a place to stay in the city when we were too wasted to go home. and now we live in the city literally down the street from each other and barely hang out. this is totally nostalgic.
AllyS2 was mostly right with the spoken part but it's not "someone elses God" rather "someone elses girl"
:)
Also "answerphones" not "hand-set phones" :P
I do like this song alot :D
Nah, it's "someone else's god". You can see it written if you pause it at 2:04 in the video
