Knockin' on Heaven's Door (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics
Mama, take this badge off of me
I can't use it anymore.
It's gettin' dark, much too dark to see
I feel like I'm knocking on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Mama, put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore
That long black cloud is comin' down
I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Mama, wipe the blood from my face
I'm sick and tired of the war
Don't know if it's night or if it's the sun rising high
Scared of knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
I can't use it anymore.
It's gettin' dark, much too dark to see
I feel like I'm knocking on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
I can't shoot them anymore
That long black cloud is comin' down
I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
I'm sick and tired of the war
Don't know if it's night or if it's the sun rising high
Scared of knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door

Antony is an angel. His verson is just brilliant I'm crying!

It's from "I'm not there" OST, obviously another Bob Dylan, or should I say "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" cover. In my opinion the best version of this song ever recored, Antony Hegarty's voice really gives you the feeling of desperation and hopelessness.
beautiful, hopeless, soul-filling this was how the song was meant to be, not jacked with guitar, drums, and hollering
i agree with dogtor.. best cover version ever recorded. the original and this, is the only version i like.
so amazingly beautiful. i dont think the lyrics need to be explained. A son, sick of life, trouble and all that exists within. He's done, he's fed up and ready to give up and his only salvation is his love for his mother. He reaches out to her, to gain, the only person who matter, opinion.
tears roll down my face as i write this. so so beautifuk
The first time i listened to this song, i pictured a man who is just tired and sick of life. He doesn´t exactly wants to die but he doesn´t want to live either.
