Yeah it's "It's a fcking waste" instead of just "It's a waste". Don't see anything wrong with it, it's just like James Blunt's "fcking high".

I think he's saying he wants to be somebody that he knows he could be but isn't and he wants to change. He keeps letting her down and he never is there for her, he is more like a dream but he is hoping "someday" he will be able to be there for her.

I don't read the comic but it could mean , simply , the feathers r that of an angel that she's acting like all innocent. But the dude coming back for her - metaphorically - is the devil. Thus she should hide her angel wings cuz she's arrogantly (or naively) thinking its gonna be Jesus comng back for her - but he doesn't want to save her. So doesn't want to be seen with jc wings when old lucifer comes by to take her for good... Perhaps the symbols here could b applied to the original story? At least that's s what I've always heard.......
Just saw Augustana 2 weeks ago and before Dan played this song...he said it was simply about him wanting to get off the road of touring and meet his woman at some romantic getaway drinking margaritas.
