I believe the song is talking about drugs. "Where you gonna sleep today..." many times artists use "sleep" as a euphemism for getting high on drugs. "Where you waking up today..." many times when people are in the throngs of their addiction there is no telling where it will take them.

"Every red eye that you cross makes the next feel serious..." once again, red eyes, getting high, making the next high feel more and more serious.

"Every silver shell that you crush will be enough..." perhaps this is alluding to pills or some other narcotic.

"When you feel like everyone wants to kill the unicorn..." at some point, those around an addict will try to get them to stop their behavior and habit. This "unicorn" would be a manifestation of the addict's fantasy that the drugs are good for their life and the people trying to seek help for the addict seems more like they want to kill the "fun".

"Every new day that you start plans the minute you're flagging your heart " I think that the word "flag" in this context is a verb, meaning to signal. I think the subject of this song warns her heart of the usual trouble that she encounters.

"every red eye that you cross makes the next feel serious " Since, the audience wakes up warning herself about love everyday, I think these two lines continue that idea. With every red eye that she crosses, indicates the countless let-downs from past relationships. Yet, in spite of all her disappointment, she thinks that the next relationship will actually be genuine.

"every silver shell that you crush will be enough" I think this implies that the audience is an alcoholic. That's immediate what comes to my mind, when the speaker mentions crushing "silver shells".

It kind of makes sense since the rest of song has the speaker asking the audience where she'll wake today or where she'll sleep. Honestly, I think it's about a person who sleeps around and constantly hurt by this because she takes all these encounters as serious relationships. She tries to warn herself but she's somehow fooled into thinking things are going to change this time.

I think the second line is wrong: "plans the minute you're flagging your heart"

sounds more like: "plants a miniature flag in your heart"

every red eye that you cross (You are furious of seeing people that shapes you in another form, so you challenge them before you meet yourself, so you become cold-hearted)

makes the next feel serious (And that makes the next one you meet feel serious and in a need to fit in so it doesn’t get pushed on the ground by you, so it chat up to what you want it to be, so you all can sleep within your wheel, its either drown or swim, sink or fly)

where you waking up today (When will you wake up from your coma, will you still let yourself sleep and run away from yourself)
