We Made It Lyrics

See, a nigga survived the worst but my life is glorious
But I know that I leaped every hurdle and I'm so victorious
Take a look, I'm a symbol of greatness now call a nigga Morpheus
As a force securing the win but they believe I'm so notorious
You know that I've been by my bread even though we rapping now
And we used to live on the strip even though we nigga higher level trapping now
Superceded every one of my little struggles and throwing hands never ever been an option
A nigga paper long like rushing with traffic and I'm about to take the hood shoppin', get it?

Yo, when it all got started we was steadily just getting rejected
And it seemed like nothing we could do would ever get us respected
At best, we were stressed, at the worst they probably said we're pathetic
Had all the pieces to that puzzle, just no way to connect it
I was fighting through every rhyme, tightening up every line
Never resting the question if I was out of my mind
It finally came time to do it or let it die
So we put the chips on the table and told 'em to let it ride, singin', yeah

Look, in case you misunderstand exactly what I'm building
The shit that I can leave for my children (children), children (children)
Now at home I wake up and I smile to see how far I've come
Fighting for sales on a strip to regain the hustle from
From nights I jam on a bench using my muscles, son
To counting money like Dre and Jimmy and Russel once
But now I live when I dream, you see we finally did it
Let's make a toast to the hustle, regardless how you did it, sing it

Together we made it (You see, we did it, niggas)
We made it even though we had our backs up against the wall (Come on)
Forever we waited (Ha ha)
And they told us we were never going to get it but we took it
On the road (To the riches)
On the road (To the ghetto)
On the road (In the projects to this bangin' instrumental)
On the road (Ride with me)
On the road (We come to get it)
On the road (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
Ohh (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

This song is like a description of the energy you feel about what your building.

It really helps restore self-belief.

i personally think its about how far black people have come and how good it feels to be where they are now, it's a very inspiring topic and i really respect busta rhymes in terms of this song. linkin park are amazing in it too, it sounds more like them in it and i love them as a band.

this songs just amazing i agree, it really does restore self belief and kindof makes you think you can do anything no matter what people say.

i also think it has links to how busta rhymes's career rose and how people said theyt'd never do it and they did. there's definitely one or two differnt themes running through.

I personally think this song has little or nothing to do with black people I mean you can apply to that but still. I think it has to do with both Busta Rhymes and Mike Shinoda and how hard it was to rise in their careers.
