I just wanna point out that hating musilms are not racist...it's stupid, but it's not racist. If you hate arabic people or people from the middleeast, then thats racist. Anyway, first i thought this song was a critique of religion and wealth, and how that interact with eachother, mainly because he said something about he didn't need to grow a beard...but after reading the lyrics I can see im probably way off.

    My Opinion

This song is very offensive to me, it was rasict and very disrespectful .. I was left in a state of shock upon hearing it at first not sure whether it was real or a joke. It is a very ignorant song sung by a bunch of ignorant artists, people (half of which claim to be "muslims") who dont understand anything about the arabic and islamic world and culture.

This song stereotypes muslims and arabs in a very negative light and should be banned. The remix is even more offensive as it uses words from the Holy Quran in the chorus, which is blasphemous as the words are sacred.

I don't really understand what his target audience is or if he just wants the attention.

It would be really pathetic if he was just doing this for the publicity and even more so if he actually believes in the things he's rapping about because it would prove how ignorant and closed minded of a person he really is.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
