Rise Lyrics

So much pain we
Dont know how to be but angry
Feel infected like weve got gangrene
Please dont let anybody try to change me
Me
Just me
In the middle of a sea full of faces
Full of faces
Some laugh some salivate
Whats in your alleyway
Recycling bins or bullet cases
Its not equal
Its not fair
Were different people
But were not scared
We aint never scared
To pave a new path
Make a new street
Build a new bridge
Say can you see by the dawns early light
Free slaves running
Songs words werent right
Now a new days coming
The few stay stunning while the many are handsome
Your soul is alive but they want it for ransom
The base drumming is the anthem
We step to the heartbeats of our granddaughters and grandsons
And

Rise together
We rise together
[repeated several times]

Lost hope and found need
Grounded by our surroundings
Did the walls scream universities
Or you and i verse the tees
React automatic and we burst when squeezed
And make 9-11 each emergency
Urgency amber to red like the turning leaves
Oh please let the hurting cease
Don't let apathy police the populace
We will march across
Those stereotypes that were marked for us
The answers obvious
We switch the consonants
Change the sword to words and lift continents

If you believe in redemption
I'm calling to you from another dimension

i love this banddd! what they're saying is that we need to rise together, join together to make change

if i had to connect to the current situation we're in, i'd say that so many are hurt with the soldiers in iraq dying every day, many have lost loved ones and are angry at the government for the way they handled the situation, angry at bush for getting us into this mess, and we let that anger inffect us and prevent us from what needs to be done. What needs to be done is that we have to make sure that we ellect people into office who will make a positive change.

or it could be that when the towers were attacked many in america turned to anger and let it infect them which led to a useless war, which led to the death of many more americans (soldiers), and what they're saying is are we gonna choose recycling bins or bullet cases, are we gonna choose to hold onto this grudge and continue fighting or chose to better our environment and focus in improving conditions here at home

i think the song is a message saying that we are alone and alone we sacrifice what we have and slowly do what we are told. but together we are a louder voice and together... we rise.

to me this song means that to those in power we are all just another brick in the wall... but we need to realise that we are like our ancestors and need to fight for what we believe in and rise together against the oppressive peoples that control us.

To me this song is trying to say a message by song. like Me just me in the middle of a sea full of faces: me alone can make a significant difference in a crisis, Whats in your allyway recycling bins of bullet casses: are you going to help the cause or make it worse,Were different people but not scared we aint ever scared: if we cooperate we can do anyhing, songs words werent right now a new days coming: a new start to help

Personally, I think their say we need to actually work to make our country better. We can't sit around and continue to just hope, we have to "rise together" to make a difference. And not just the country anything in general.

hahaha. you should really read about true socialism, plus obama's policies before you go calling anyone a socialist. yah the meaning of this song is pretty obvious. but when he says: " If you believe in redemption I'm calling to you from another dimension. " it just reminds me of like. the rapture or something. does anyone else get that?

yea to me "If you believe in redemption I'm calling to you from another dimension." sounds as if everyone left in his dimension has given up except you

Yeah...

Also, Socialism isn't that bad. I mean, REALLY read up on it. It's this terrible beast everyone screams about.

in my opinion its as simple even though we are all people and the same we seperate oursevles so much by race, religion, sex, and everything else and with war that we are just draged down but when we finally come together as one, as the human race and stop fighting and just speak are minds and understand one another.... we rise

This song really isn't very political. It's not anti-government or rebellious, just showing that to succeed as a society at any scale we need to work with one another.

Just a thought, doesn't the whole working together thing rule out certain forms of economic policies? Capitalism is the exact opposite of working together, it is using each other. As our government, and society, is extremely capitalistic, I think that would make this song quite political.

Simple; humanity has the capacity to rise above all hatred.
