Like a moth she moves to the red light
Her blood warms and boils there
She skims the sweat like a new milk
And pops the buttons off her wet blouse

[Chorus: ]
Oh Queen of the Night
Well she is deep inside
She is haunting me
(All of her soft parts call to me
She could be mine)

She digs her nails into her naked chest
Miles of veins fan out like a road map
She pulls back the skin to show her ribs
That twinkle like shooting stars

[Chorus: Repeat 4X]

    Definately my favorite M83 song!

This song for some reason reminds me of some passionate sex scene. Very good imagery. Also for those wondering what the male is singing, he is saying:

"All of her soft parts call to me. She Could be mine."

I'm pretty sure the chorus goes..

Oh, Queen of the Night Her chiastical sigh As she is haunting me

Here 'chiastical' is an improper form of the word chiastic, describing the symmetrical gasping breath (in and out) during sex. This is simulated near the end of the song.

I would say that the song is written from a male perspective, it is an expression of his sexual desire for this girl, but as jewdiful notes, the reference to the 'Queen of the Night' as in 'The Magic Flute' perhaps indicates that she has the ability to obscure all logic, reason and wisdom from his mind, 'haunting' him instead with these sensual images and eventually leading him to doubt his (somewhat more hesitant) conscious judgement ('She COULD me mine').

    Just my 2c.

I love everything about this song, even the toms. This whole album is such a love letter to a style and sound so many of today's music listeners are unfamiliar with, it's glorious to hear again.

I actually like the fact that the lyrics are hard to decipher in the chorus, I think its part of what makes M83, well... M83. The toms are a bit much, but I do love the claps during the outro. Damn hot.

This song is just beautiful in many respects.

I was listening to this randomly while reading Harry potter and for some reason it kind of was a good soundtrack to the ending of the 7th book. idk.

This song reminds me of the sex scene in The Lost Boys for some reason. It just screams "have hot, sweaty sex to this".

artificial toms are a bit much, but the harmonies are incredible. i enjoy the breathiness a lot, too, but it makes it hard to decipher the lyrics during the chorus, especially with the conflicting consonant sounds of the male part.

    thank you much.

This song is pure sex and I love it. For those of you familiar with the animated 90's classic Felix The Cat, this song somehow reminds me of it. Weird, I know...

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
