Down To The Market Lyrics
I going to take you down the market lover,
‘Cause that's where the trouble starts,
You got to get it into your heart,
There are people out there to make you feel bad,
But don't you listen baby don't you listen,
‘Cause I know you feel that way,
But I’m getting so tired, of people always crossing my wires,
Life’s just far too short, for miscommunication,
I'm going to take her down to the market today,
‘Cause that’s where the trouble starts,
You don't want nobody else,
There are people out there to make you feel good,
But don't you listen baby don't you listen,
‘Cause you know they want it all,
But I’m getting so tired, of people always crossing my wires,
Life’s just far too short, for miscommunication,
Oh I’m getting so tired, of people always crossing my wires,
Life’s just far too short, for miscommunication,
Communication,
Communication.
‘Cause that's where the trouble starts,
You got to get it into your heart,
There are people out there to make you feel bad,
But don't you listen baby don't you listen,
‘Cause I know you feel that way,
Life’s just far too short, for miscommunication,
‘Cause that’s where the trouble starts,
You don't want nobody else,
There are people out there to make you feel good,
But don't you listen baby don't you listen,
‘Cause you know they want it all,
Life’s just far too short, for miscommunication,
Oh I’m getting so tired, of people always crossing my wires,
Life’s just far too short, for miscommunication,
Communication,
Communication.

Well, I don't know much about this song, but from what I'm reading of the lyrics, don't let people control you. Like, you only have one life and fuck those who don't matter: "Life’s just far too short, for miscommunication."
i think it's about this problematic relationship and the way people are always meddling in. "people cuttin my wires"
the lyrics actually say: "life's just far too short for MISS communication" (according to the lyrics in the album) I think that's a clever way to show their talking about a woman.
it doesn't say that in the booklet... in the booklet, it's one word. But that'd be a cool way to look at it. As in, life's too short for her, she's a busy woman.

i think the market in this case is a metaphor for competition and rivalry. "But I’m getting so tired, of people always crossing my wires" so one should say clearly what he or she wants to get it and avoid miscommunication.
I think he's tired of having arguments with people when people just use tactics to win an argument when they don't actually listen, so it doesn't work and it pisses him off.
