he has gave his all in this relationship and no matter how much he does to prove to her he loves her its never good enough. theres no pleasing her. and since hes tried eveything and givin his all, he cant ive anymore. and he finally relizes maybe there not ment to be :]
Don't get me wrong, I think All or Nothing is a good song but I can't believe that song was put out on the radio before this song. This song has #1 single power written all over it. They are idiots if they don't eventually put this song out as a single. Actually Theory will never be idiots. Fucking amazing band.

I think it means that either a relationship that has happened or one that the guy thought was going to happen. I am leading towards one that happened and he finally realizes that they were just not meant to be even if he wanted them to be. One of the best songs on the album.
How's this take, it's not a relationship gone sour, but a guy who's crazy about a girl, like to the point he's cryying every night because of her, and she can never love him because of something a previous guy has done, and the singer is thryying to be so much like the guy she wants, but cant do it, and then realizes that his plight is futile and gives up.

They're in a relationship. Duh. But for some reason (the whole "it" that he can't give her) they won't work and he knows it. He's sad about knowing all the good times will be gone. He's trying his hardest to keep her happy but even in his efforts they both end up unhappy.

its like trying to turn around on a one way street... we all know is almost impossible. so hes in this relationship that he knows is almost impossible.. and its going nowhere but he really loves the girl, but everything he does isn't good enough. so instead of hanging on to something that will never work hes decided to give up and he lets fear win over his feelings.
