First off, this song is freaking awesome. I'm curious to why people are taking the song so seriously and calling it "whiney." It's not whiney at all. It's a fun song, plain and simple. It's an anthem for everyday people, and it's a very humorous song. Of course now I hear it all the time but I liked this song long before it was played on the radio anyways. Say what you want about it, but in no way is this a whiney song.
The band's lead singer, Tyler Connolly explained this song during a concert. He said: "I wrote this song because one day I got out of bed and was like, 'Today feels like it's going to be a bad day. I can feel it.' I realized that there are people out there that have it worse than most people who bitch and complain, and decided to write it so maybe it could make someone's day a little better."

There is no doubt in my mind that this song is being SARCASTIC. I don't think it's about those shitty days and I don't think it's saying how life actually is shitty. It's making fun of the people who actually do say they hate their life and are serious about it. If nothing else, the humor in the song proves that.
