Heaven (Little By Little) Lyrics

Now Don't Be Afraid
We Can Always Talk About It
No Need To Medicate
Cuz I Know You're Strong Without It
You Got Me Through The Days
When I Thought I Couldn't Face It
Let Me Count The Ways
The Love We Have You Can't Replace It
Just Hold On, I'm Not That Strong

There's A Little Piece Of Heaven
Right Here Where You Are
The Fact That You Keep Trying
Is What Sets You Apart
Help Me Find The Reason and
I'll Help You Find The Way To Get
Rid Of Your Pain Little By Little
Day By Day

Now You're Far Away and I'm Alone
To Cry About It. It's Not A Better Place
When You Die and Leave Me Here To Say Hold On, I Was Never That Strong

There's A Little Piece Of Heaven
Right Here Where You Are
The Fact That You Keep Trying
Is What Sets You Apart
Help Me Find The Reason and
I'll Help You Find The Way To Get
Rid Of Your Pain Little By Little
Day By Day

You'll Get Stronger, If You Need Me, I'm Not Far Away So Just Hold On,
I'll Help You Find A Way
I'll Help You Find The Way

There's A Little Piece Of Heaven
Right Here Where You Are
The Fact That You Keep Trying
Is What Sets You Apart
Help Me Find The Reason and
I'll Help You Find The Way To Get
Rid Of Your Pain
Little By Little, Day By Day
Little By Little, Day By Day

Honestly, I don't think this song is about drugs at all. It could be for some people, but my interpretation of the song is someone's going through a rough patch (a friend, loved one, significant other), and the singer's trying to help them through it. I think it's about depression, and since most people suffering from depression usually take medication to help them get through the day, I think that's why meds are mentioned at the beginning. But the singer's saying this person is stronger than that; they don't need to rely on medication to get better and move along. They can rely on him, and together, they'll find a way to get better on their own.

Then again, it could be about drugs, with the mention of Heaven, being afraid, and whatnot... But that can also go with depression, since that often leads to suicide. The person could be afraid of committing suicide, and when he says "it's not a better place when you die and leave me here to stay," it kind of makes me think the person wanted to leave voluntarily - like, they wanted to leave the depression, and instead of holding on strong, they'd killed themselves to go on to that "better place". Besides, what drug can really make you "strong"? At the beginning, it's implying the drug is supposed to do that, and really, no street drug can help your mental pains.

"The fact that you keep trying is what sets you apart" doesn't have to relate to drugs, either, since most people in depression let it get to them and don't do anything to get better, and "help me find the reason and I'll help you find the way" doesn't have to refer to why they're taking drugs, either; it can refer to how come they've fallen into this depression exactly, and how they can overcome that obstacle and find the way to recovery again.

In conclusion, to me it's about helping someone deal with depression, not drug addiction. Pretty much the whole song for me is just him saying, "You helped me through a rough time, and now I'll do the same for you." Throughout the whole song, he's describing what their relationship is like, how it's been affected by this, the depression the person's going through, and how he'll try his best to improve their relationship and help the person move on, "little by little, day by day."

Again, that's just my interpretation - probably based off personal experience, but oh, well. It's a really beautiful, very emotional; it strikes something within me with Tyler's voice and the touching lyrics, and portrays coping with any struggle alongside someone - drug addiction or depression - really well. It's my favorite song ever, no joke, and definitely plucks some heart strings. :)

To me it's a person who has lost a loved one they were very close to. Not sure family or friend 🤔 the conversation is going on with the spirit of the this said person. People do medicate when depressed over a great loss. May not be totally right but feel I'm close. Could be a little about all our thoughts. Would love to hear from the group about the true meaning, just can't find it. Either way, we all agree What beautiful song that has affected my life.

Awe this song is so sad. I think it's about someone close to him that has a drug problem and he's trying to help

This song is beautiful. Maybe not so much for the meaning, but the way he sings it and the emotions around it, nice.

It's a beautiful song about friendship and what true friends do to help one another through struggle and travail.

The lyrics.. well basically the first part is a description of an actual conversation. Lol. Was going through a rough patch and someone was there to help me. I love the lyrics. I love this song.

This is about him helping a friend with a drug addiction. On a person level, this was recommended to me by a friend who wanted to help me give up self harm, which in its self is an addiction. It makes me think of our friendship because the lyrics at the beginning "You Got Me Through The Days,When I Thought I Couldn't Face It" relate quite closely to our relationship, because I've helped her through some stuff.

This song is so beautifully written.

My Interpretation

As a person that deals with depression..this song just really hlps me when I am really down on myself. It lets the listener kinda feel that life ain't so bad. You just have to keep your head up.
