It may not have anything to do with this, but the song makes me think of all the relationships when you're a kid that are amazing and new and how it's sad that when you grow up or move away you'll probably never see your first love again and maybe even forget all about them.

The meaning of this song is obvious..it's about a break up and just the fear and sadness that comes with it. I just love how he sings this song, so honest and emotional. It is the perfect break up song to crawl into your bed and cry to.

I'm pretty sure it's "Left school together, went back to my place" instead of "Let's go together, well back to my place". And delete the "it" in the last line. It's just "is". Beautiful song though, you can really relate to how he's (supposedly) feeling. The whole idea of the world being free when you're still a kid, the idea of life tearing you apart; brilliant. Indeed, a song I would put on if my girlfriend would beak up with me. Sure hope that's not gonna happen though!

You can even relate to it, without ever having experienced a dramatic break up. Just the feeling of how cruel the world can be, how much love can hurt; that's what this song is about.

Agree with Joe, its the fear of losing your loved one. He wants to see her one last time before saying goodbye

This song is one of the best on their new album. Think it is about a break up but theres more to it than just that. Its about losing someone you have spent most of your life with and how as you get older things get harder. I think its brilliant how he captures the naievity of childhood and then the heartbreak we go through as life goes on

other than the break up... i think its a song about being scared of growing up, adult life beginning.. and growing apart from her...

The A,B,C-part sound really lame. It's a great song though, i almost cry a little when i hear it.

It's a very beautiful song.. The's a lot of feeling to it. He really, really misses his love and the way life was so simple when they were together.
