18 days
Since I?d look at myself
I don?t wanna have to change
If I don?t then no one will
Is it my state of mind
Or is it just everything else
I don?t wanna have to be here
I don?t understand it now

Cause its been 18 days
Since I first held you
But to me it feels just like
It feels like a lifetime
I?m trying hard to re-arrange
Some say its the hardest thing to do
But that?s another 18 days
Without you..

Time after time
I?ve been through this
You show me what it means to live
You give me hope when I was hopeless
As my days fade to night
I remember that state of mind
I?m soaring straight into your heart
And I?ll fly high

Cause it?s been 18 days
Since I first held you
But to me it feels just like
It feels like a lifetime
I?m trying hard to re-arrange
Some say it?s the hardest thing to do

But that?s just too many days
Without you

And I know what they say
About all good things
Will they come to an end
But I?ll fight this time
So that we might
Have a chance at this

Cause it?s been 18 days
Since I?d look at myself
I don?t wanna have to change
If I don?t then no one will

Cause its been too many days
Since I first held you
But to me it feels just like
It feel like a lifetime
I?m trying hard to re-arrange
Some say it?s the hardest thing to do
But that?s just too many days without you

And I know what they say
About all good things
Will they come to an end
But I?ll fight this time
So that we might
Have a chance at this..

This song sounds a lot like its about having a kid....having to change and rearrange your life because of the new addition to your life.

They sound kind of country in this song... It's weird. I'm not sure if I like these guys or not yet... But yeah the meaning is pretty obvious.

I love this band. My husband has this song on his myspace...he is in the Army so this song suits him. Although its been a lot longer than 18 days...more like 13 months.

This song is means a lot to me. I heard it the first time on my fiance's 18th day in prison. He went in on a parole violation because at one of his regularly schedualed meetings with his parole officer he tested dirty for alcohol. He's been battling with alcoholism for a while now, and I told him that if he didn't change I couldn't do it anymore. So the verse "Cuz’ it’s been 18 days Since I had to look at myself I don’t wanna have to change If I don’t then no one will Cuz’ it’s been too many days Since I first held you But to me it feels jus like It feels like a lifetime I’m tryin’ hard to rearrange Some say it’s the hardest thing to do But that’s just too many days Without you" is really fitting for him. He says I'm the only person in the world he can change for, and this song gives me hope. :)

soo...this song makes me cry thinking about it...i haven't seen my bf in about a year now...i hate the army right about now...i can't say it was at 18 days that i completely felt the effects...but definitely after 18 weeks you start to feel it for sure... this song is self explanatory, guys misses his girl after 18 days of not being able to hold her...w/e long distance relationship that is...like cw543 says with dedicating it to troops across seas, they really hit it on the nail with this one...

I read somewhere that the singer Jared Weeks said the song was about a sheriff that was shot several times while on a call. He had severe injuries to his face and was kept in the hospital. He was released 18 days later he was finally able to look at himself in the mirror. The lyrics describe his thoughts and feelings at the time.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
