You Are Goodbye Lyrics

I remember here,
I remember you and me,
I remember wild and wild and free.
I remember 'stay',
I remember 'please don't ever leave',
I remember you made me believe
That tomorrow and today,
The sun would hold our hands,
But the night came in to stay
While you made other plans.

I remember time,
I remember days slid into years,
Building lifetimes, thinking you'd be here.
But tomorrow and today,
Well they misunderstood.
And you went along your way,
I think you're gone for good.

You are the sun gone down,
You are the sky.
You are the moon rushed round,
You are goodbye.
You are good, goodbye.

I remember 'go',
And I remember 'well maybe you could wait'.
I remember arms reached out too late.
Because tomorrow and today
Are only here so long.
When there's nothing left to say,
I hear that life moves on.

You are the sun gone down,
You are the sky.
You are the moon rushed round,
You are goodbye.
You are good, good.
You are goodbye.
You are good, goodbye.

I've always loved this song but it just recently took a much more personal meaning for me.

I had a best friend. He was the greatest friend I'd ever had. We had an on-and-off relationship all summer. He's the first person I've ever loved. Now, he's in college. He has made new friends and only talks about them. We used to talk on the phone every night. Last night, he was at a party with his new friends. The night before he just didn't call at all. It hurts so much thinking about how much I'm losing him and how he doesn't even seem to care. I'm starting to realize that this was inevitable, though, and it's beginning to hurt less and less.

This song describes my situation perfectly.

"I remember here, I remember you and me, I remember wild and wild and free." This is our relationships. All of the greatest times we had together.

"I remember 'stay', I remember 'please don't ever leave" The break ups and even right now. Me not wanting him to leave.

"But the night came in to stay While you made up plans." Him starting to hang out with his new friends.

"I remember time, I remember days slid into years, Building lifetimes, thinking you'd be here. But tomorrow and today, Well they misunderstood. And you went along your way, I think you're gone for good." Our friendship growing, and now ending. That last line almost brings me to tears.

"You are the sun gone down, You are the sky. You are the moon rushed round, You are goodbye. You are good, goodbye." My feelings for him, and me having to let them go, say "goodbye."

"I remember gold, And I remember 'well maybe you could wait'. I remember arms reached out too late. Because tomorrow and today Are only here so long. When there's nothing left to say, I hear that life moves on." Dealing with the regrets of everything I didn't do in the past.

" You are the sun gone down, You are the sky. You are the moon rushed round, You are goodbye. You are good, good. You are goodbye. You are good, goodbye. " I have to say goodbye, no matter how hard it is. I have to.

Holly is O-MAZING in concert!!! Saw her a few nights ago --- because of this song. DEFINITELY check her out if you can. I also loved "OK" --- Holly is an amazing lyricist.

This song reminds me of friendships gone awry. Maybe a few relationships thrown in here and there. It's about that ONE particular moment, when a decision is made --- just a little too late.

I have been listening to this song OVER AND OVER AGAIN. The lyrics are soooo.. Original. Soo real. Her voice completes the sadness. I think its about death. Maybe a relationship. "When there's nothing left to say, I hear that life moves on" has to be one of the best lyrics. Especially the tone she sents through it.

Beutiful song, beutiful voice.

I loved this song when I first heard it, but it's developed a more personal meaning for me recently. My grandmother just passed away from Alzheimer's, and I can see the lyrics fitting that. Such as "But the night came in to stay/While you made up plans" like the night is Alzheimer's. "Building lifetimes, thinking you'd be here"--thinking she'd be here mentally for these last agonizing ten years. "When there's nothing left to say/I hear that life moves on" --life kept barreling on, even though we couldn't communicate to her once it got bad. And now, there's nothing for us to say, since we knew it was going to happen and it is ultimately better for her not to be in pain in anymore, and we must move on.

i also got this song off itunes free downloads. it has helped me thru the worst times of my life so far, and every time i listen to the words i am. speechless and moved. i think holly conlan in brilliant and she really put what i feel so often into words, into a song. 'I remember gold, And I remember 'well maybe you could wait'. I remember arms reached out too late. Because tomorrow and today Are only here so long. When there's nothing left to say, I hear that life moves on.' those are some of my favorite lyrics ever written. its so true.
