dropbeatsnob, I agree with you that it sounds dark, almost like she knows what they should be afraid of. But it could also be that the children are so naiive that they don't know that the world is actually a scary place and maybe she's just speaking of that innocence that children have and she's wishing she could have that same hope.

It almost sounds like it's during a war. She's scared, but she doesn't want to tell the kids that they're in danger.

this reminds me of something like the world war I bombings, with planes humming madly above a big city everyone was unaware and she is holding the childs ears shut and sinigng to him because of the deafining sounds that came.

Yes, definitely dark... I'm almost maybe halfway agreeing with the war theories, but since I've got nothing else to offer, I'll keep my mouth shut.

I was thinking it was about war, too. It's just as they lyrics say--she longs for the blissfull inncence of youth, and makes a desparate attempt to preserve that in the aforementioned children.

Personally. I think this is one of the most beautiful things i've ever heard. maybe it's just the words and the situation i'm in. but wow. I love it.
